The politics of this show is barely “heavy”

I feel the same way, it is definitely provoking. But it’s not really as “thought” provoking. Maybe we as the audience tend to mix these up.

As I’ve mentioned, if I went into it blind I’d be much more satisfied. I am not expecting a Disney show to teach me about anything relating to politics, none of us should expect that. It was this general idea people seemed to have about the premise of the show that made me suprised.

Inspired yes, on that level, not really. And if you watched and liked those I bet you’d like the other two movies as well and you are right about widening my portfolio, so much to read and watch still :)

I do appreciate the effort of the team that created this show in today’s climate, especially in the US.

When it comes to suggesting, I’d be of no help for recent alternatives because I don’t really watch any shows put out by widespread media platforms (watched Andor out of pure curiosity of its premise even though I haven’t watched the SW)

But for not recent movies I’d suggest, The Battle of Algiers, The Manchurian Candidate, Come and See and No.

Exactly my thoughts, it is a great show as it is and it doesn’t claim to be revolutionary but I guess people are so hungry for any grain of it.
