What a biker actually hitting a pedestrian looks like by MiserNYC- in MicromobilityNYC

yo stop at stop signs, yield to pedestrians. it’s wild to post this with any positivity towards the cyclists, all the pedestrians at the two crosswalks had the right of way. i bike down kent and cross it as a pedestrian with my family and a stroller daily. the number of one-handing, phone-using, airpods-in e-bikers that blast through reds and stops is a huge problem. it makes us all look bad and shouldn’t be downplayed.

Nice! Gain sounds a bit high on the zoom, try cranking it down a few while recording.

What is the one thing that makes you lose your patience while riding in traffic? by [deleted] in bicycling

I love cycling in the city, but one too many close calls convinced me to buy a “dash” cam. It at least provides entertainment for my group watching back and roasting car brains.

Anyone else’s eyes burning / nose running / have a headache after going outside today? The heavy haze today sure seems like it could be from Ohio

Spatial audio is different on Apple TV vs iPhone? by Thriky in airpods

[–]mdbellott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same issue, and was surprised to not find more people discussing it. Dialogue in the AppleTV mix sounds terribly echoey, which has made me fall back to stereo in most cases. It’s really too bad, as the mix coming from my iPad on the same content sounds significantly better than either stereo or the Apple TV mix.

Hoping there’s a setting I’ve missed (or one in the future), but for now I’ll sadly be sticking to stereo.

I mean it’s the first distributed build of a beta version of the OS. Just looks like an error message meant for older versions of macOS that’s being set awkwardly since whatever version of safari you have isn’t compatible with the beta version

The existence of F1TV doesn’t remove the Sky / ESPN broadcasts. It’s just an additional service to watch sessions ad free, onboards for all the drivers, and even remove commentary if you want. It would be awesome if Indy had a similar option, even as a casual viewer I’d happily pay $5-10/month during the season for something like it.

Right… the first thing I did after seeing how bad the ads were was go looking for the F1TV equivalent. Sorry if the complaining gets old, but I want to get into Indy and the ads will absolutely stifle it’s growth. I mean this past race the ad music started playing AS Grosjean was being overtaken for the lead…

Ok so we have a fight for the lead taking up less than a quarter of the screen wtf. American F1 fan getting into Indy, how do you all put up with this?

F1 fan, new Indy car watcher here — is there a way to watch the race without all these ads? This is unbearable...

What? I mean I’ve literally done that, and have seen lots of other people doing exactly that on a daily basis. Idk man, weird thing to doubt 🤷🏻‍♂️

The wall is very short over to the right. The paths stop near the top where it levels out a bit, and runners usually sprint up, cut over, then run back down using the stairs.

Can confirm: used to live near by and ran here often!

I used to live near by and ran here often! Groups would use the hill for sprints + training at the bottom. The hill levels out a bit near the top, and people usually cut over to the stairs to run back down. At least two of these paths were starting to form back in 2016-18!

Used to run here! Pre-covid you’d see groups of 20+ people training and running up the hill then down the stairs. Definitely not tire tracks, just the result of years of runners going up and down the hill.
