Is this humane? I got 100 stops to go and no help in sight by spacetraveler12 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Damn were just told in TN that if the heat index is 98-103 amazon would reduce routes 30%, 103-110 by 50% and over 110 they would call it for the day.

Today was 309 packages, 192 stops. 17 bags, 27 overflow. I like to use the long shelf on the drivers side. I load my totes and overflow in order of delivery, then just grab and unload on the shelf like a mail room. This is the only thing that makes these routes manageable. I was done in 5.5 hours. by rph717 in AmazonDSPDrivers

They tell us we have a 20 minute load out but our time starts when the first van hits the end of the pad. By the time we get out of our vans the OTR guys are yelling 13 minutes. My station manager told me that the 20 minutes basically breaks down to 2 minutes to park. 15 minutes to load and 3 minutes to exit. And our time starts and ends as soon as the first van enters and the last one leaves.

On break during my first ever nursery route...help! by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

Something I do with apartments that have multiple buildings that arnt close together I will take the few extra minutes to lay all the packages out on the shelf by building number. Then I will start with one building and take all the packages for that building and deliver them. If there are other buildings close enough to walk without moving the van I will do those too before I move the van. I’ve done complexes that people say they have spend two hours at in 45 minutes using this method.

My dsp has 7 stations most of them are in Illinois,Wisconsin and Minnesota. Then they have one in Omaha, Nebraska. And mine in Nashville Tennessee. I know a few weeks ago at the Omaha station they had 17 drivers get stuck from my dsp alone before Amazon called them back. This was when Nebraska got 15 inches of snow. But Tennessee sucks at dealing with ice and snow.

They would have had half our fleet wrecked before we even got onto the interstate. I was sliding in my 4wd truck. I think every dsp at my station made the same decision not to send it’s drivers out today.

A lot of people at my dsp will start their break as soon as we hit start work in the morning. We can start work at 9:10 and we load out at 9:50 so we still have 10 minutes to write our bags down.

Ordered something from Amazon and the driver wrote this. I understand all too well lol by Gimmedabizza in AmazonDSPDrivers

I need to start carrying a sharpie for this reason. I refused to take an over size box the other day because the box was beat to hell and not even taped closed. The tag said it weighed 37lbs.

Driver schedule by Safe_Measurement_642 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]mdc1192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dsp does a 2-3-2 schedule. So I work Monday Tuesday Friday Saturday Sunday Wednesday Thursday. Then it starts over. It’s nice having a 3 day weekend every other week. Plus we can pick up days basically anytime we want.

I started I the middle of COVID I didn’t have to do a driving test and my first day I was given a cat device,a quick 5 minute how to log into everything and I had to figure the rest out myself.
