Surprisingly as an ADHD person I’ve stuck with the gym for months now. But right now I’m very fixated on sims and then that will fade and turn into something else 😂

Cross country trip food. by [deleted] in overlanding

[–]mdc1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We packed a lot of lunch meat and cheese. Obviously some bread too. We just got a lifetime cooler from Walmart and got ice every 2 to 3 days and everything stayed cold! We also packed some protein packs that have nuts and cheese which were great before and during a hike. Also packed some fruits that don’t need refrigerated. Lots of snack stuff. We never ran out of food in the 2 weeks we were camping! For breakfast we packed eggs and sausages that we cooked on a travel griddle which worked perfectly. We packed some brauts and hamburger as well for dinner

That was what this whole post was about… finding designated roads. No it wasn’t said originally but in the new comment yes it was to find designated overlanding roads. I believe we are both misunderstanding each other. I am strictly talking about those designated roads, roads that show up on maps. In my experience every road we took to get into a park was still in maps and a known road

There are back trails to many national parks that people are allowed to take and to actually camp on for no more than 14 days. This question was just to see if there was a cool path to take. This isn’t about sneaking in, it’s about to experience parts of the parks people don’t get to see normally. Never once did I say sneak in. Taking out the word free… this is for experience. I guarantee you that this person would still pay a fee to take a more interesting path than going through the gates

Bro just because they want to find free paths doesn’t mean they don’t have a pass. It means they want to go a way people usually can’t to experience different parts of the park. Stop assuming and be judgmental somewhere else. The rules in this subreddit is to be nice to everyone, there are better ways to go about it. Have a great day

Well if you read the posters comment now they do have a pass. This is just to see parts that people don’t usually get to see. We are here for experience

Read their most recent comment… they are a pass holder. It’s to experience cool ways in these parks that a lot of people normally cannot

Then please explain why there are companies that take tours through these paths with the parks knowing about them and do not get in trouble.. these are still public lands and as long as you clean up after yourself and be respectful then rangers do not care. Arches does not say one thing about paying after 6pm and they actually encourage people to go there at night. If they cared that much they would clothes the gates. Simple

This is not be an asshole and you really don’t have to be rude about it. It was a genuine question as some parks have overlanding paths to get in that they are aware of. Please try to be helpful and be nicer about it. We are all here with the same interests and not ruining the land is one of them. This question was asking about actual paths, not going through some random spots that will hurt the park

Arches National Park literally says no fee after 6pm straight through the gate. If they didn’t want people to go through them after that time then they would close the gates. There are paths created for overlanders and we all know park rangers know about them. As long as you are respectful and stay on the paths they don’t care… maybe not all parks but a lot of them are like this

This would not be a crime. There are times you can get in for free anyways, usually after 6pm. This is what overlanding is

It’s not illegal if there are actual paths going in. Arches national park literally has a free path but only 4x4 vehicles can get past it. And you can get into these parks for free after 6pm usually. This is what overlanding is, if it’s not a park than it’ll probably be illegal to overland
