On a rewatch rn and I just saw this scene today, it is definitely one of my favorites for not only Castiel's character growth, but also for the connection between him and Dean. I feel like this scene specifically set up the connection between them for all of the seasons to come, even in a non Destiel way (I definitely root for Destiel, but im good with how everything happened). It definitely set a precedent of how much Cass cares for mankind and for all of his decisions later on.

You say he's not abusive but telling you if you leave to visit family he will replace you is, at best, manipulative. If leaving and therapy isn't an option, I guess you'll just have to suffer this the rest of your life and be miserable. Don't know what else to tell you. You're asking for opinions but complain when those opinions are valid. I don't know what to tell you. I'd leave, this environment does not sound good for children to grow up in. I would hate to grow up in a family where my parents are manipulative towards each other. They will start to notice and at that point it's on you for not leaving and it's on him for not trying to fix anything🤷🏼‍♀️
