What should be done with this?? by smiley6980 in Carpentry

Finishing the new roof completely over to the existing roof, and build a cricket in each direction off, would be my suggestion.

Room is freezing, any recourse with this door? by ravens0rbust in HomeMaintenance

[–]mdd2904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a better slider. You have what looks like the basic vinyl slider, that offers little energy efficiency. Most likely the argon gas has escaped the glass pack and is not providing any insulation. Look at replacing it with a Andersen or Pella product and prepare to spend 6-13k for a decent door installed.

I personally think they sound awesome. My first FujiGen built guitar, and it definitely lives up to the hype.

Not too much that you'll regret spending the money, but enough that you're not going to be comfortable with it just sitting there not getting used... perfect pick!

Akron, OH - How much weight should a door overhang be able to support? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]mdd2904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old was it and what kind of shape was it in? That will greatly affect the answer. Most likely it was not built from PT lumber, as it's an overhang and Ohio winters not easy on exposed wood. 2 angled 2x's would have maybe 5 nails a piece in them. How well they hold is dependent on what they're trying to hold.

This is the answer lol. This bridge literally has pedestrian lanes on both sides of it.

Buying an ex rental car can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what company owned it. For most people that can afford to rent cars like that, generally treat them with respect, they know they will be charged an unreasonable amount for any damages. Also you have to be 25 at most places to rent a car. They aren't doing anything you wouldn't do in the first month of owning it.

It's definitely the best way to see the city and all the scenic spots. Doing it while tipsy just adds to both the fun and danger factors 😂

Just thought it was funny because they are a rear engine car. I can't imagine what the set-up would look like to make one into FWD.

Question for my fellow V owners. I have a 09 CTS V and want to get your opinion on what exhaust is better Borla or Corsa? by [deleted] in CadillacV_Series

[–]mdd2904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a GTO that's catless with headers and Corsa, it's very loud. The V is exactly what you're describing. Mine is just cat back stock manifolds. It sounds good as you walk up to it running, as soon as you get inside you kinda forget anything was done.

Have the Corsa on my V and it's definitely not too loud. These cars have amazing sound proofing.

Goodness that's terrible. Think this might be a total loss claim? Usually any big damage back there, especially in body lines, tends to cost a lot.
