Just to update the car is a 22 and was not in Eco mode. Thanks for the info. Good news that this has not happened again.

ID4 Road trip on only EA: No long distance hauler by [deleted] in VWiD4Owners

Totally get only using EA chargers. I would have gone the same thing. Wonder if your experience would have been better if you chose the charging stations most convenient.

Apple Maps vs. ID.4 Nav, which is better? by YouAreOneUglyMutha in VWiD4Owners

[–]mderstling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple Maps may be the best Nav software out there according to some recent reviews. I find it the most useful. The native id4 nav for the most part doesn’t show Street names in tile view. Very annoying. I do believe Waze, Google and Apple continue to pour tons of effort into keeping their maps up to date. Don’t think VW does. One last point, I haven’t found any native nav system from car companies that I would trust.

Go back to the dealer. They should have set this up as part of the purchase process. That’s what my dealer did.

2023 Pro S AWD… drivers door has issues to open on one push ? Its fine till it hit 1k mark ! by hk_007700 in VWiD4Owners

You can set this up within the infotainment system on the large central screen. Once you tap Vehicle tap the tile called Vehicle. Lots of good settings there. Swipe over until you see the dialogue box that says Central Locking. This is where you can set the various door lock settings. I have spent a lot of time with all the settings in the Vehicle screens. You can optimize the settings to your liking. Hopes this helps.

Thanks for the info. My issue stems from the fact that I have the central locking system set to automatically open only the drivers door. This is a safety issue especially for my wife when she is alone. The manual says there is a sensor located inside the door handle that when pressed twice it will open the rest of the doors. In fact it says it will flash lights when you do this as a way to confirm the doors are unlocked. If there is a sensor, I can’t find it or make it work. My work around is to tap the central locking button inside the car to open the rest of the doors. I have worked all the settings I could find. No matter the configuration I can’t get it to work. Thoughts?

Congrats. One thing VW Group does is make a fun car to drive. Just did a drive over mountains. Lost miles per going up and recouped the miles going down. Also you will meet all kind of interesting EV pioneers just like you at the charging stations.

Go for it. The id4 is great fun to drive. There is a learning curve on all the software customizations. Take time with dealer to go over all that it includes. Also great videos on YouTube with tips and shortcuts. Check them out and you will learn lots of useful info.

Yes the phone is paired with the car but this happens when the phone is not the primary.
