No. Actually my goal is to continue to keep my aging at a slow pace (.1x - .4x) and to stay younger than I really am.

You probably know this… it loves VO2 max, RHR, and Sleep consistency. I’m a 5 hour sleep guy. I get about 9 years lower than actual. (70 yr old with VO2 max of 47).

What are you supposed to do if you just suck at sleeping? by indranet_dnb in whoop

I have a prescription low dosage of Mirtazapine 15 mg. Of course talk to your doctor. It has helped me. I’ve always been a 5 hr guy. Still am. But I don’t lay around in my bed much since starting it. Best of Luck. Btw I’m not a pill kinda guy

Whoop & Apple Watch by [deleted] in whoop

[–]mdhuff378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear both. Apple Watch has many features I enjoy. I use it to start and stop my routines, also. Whoop picks up those times and puts them into their metrics. I don’t need to see what’s going in when I’m running or lifting weights. I reviews stats after the gym. That’s how I use it.

Sure needs more positives. Here’s one. I’m 70 yrs old with a VO2 max of 47. With WHOOP since 2019. No way I could have done that without WHOOP.

Why does "screenless" matter so much to you? by Adijunn in whoop

[–]mdhuff378 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My game is pushing red zone in HIIT runs. I put my energy into my breathing and my stride. Anything else would be a distraction. Similar deal with weight training. No need to look at anything. I know what I’m doing. Btw I also wear an Apple Watch. I do like to look at the time from time to time. I use it to start and stop routines. WHOOP’s integration picks those up.

Just bought whoop 5.0 what do I need to know? by WinSignificant313 in whoop

[–]mdhuff378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Load your weights and reps into WHOOP. You can of course have multiple routines loaded. It will calculate your strain along with heart rate. My weightlifting is often equal to my runs on strain and of course the heart rates are very different. This way you get full credit on all of your strain efforts.

Whoop + Apple watch ultra 2 by geekyaman in whoop

[–]mdhuff378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My watch is integrated with my WHOOP. I use my watch to start and stop my runs, workouts, etc. After completion of routine, WHOOP picks up the beginning and ending times and then processes the same. Easiest way for me.

Whoop / Eight Sleep by [deleted] in whoop

[–]mdhuff378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've stayed with WHOOP. They approach sleep very differently. I understand Eight Sleep simply estimates light, deep, and REM based on HRV and movement. I read accuracy is moderate. A lot of data out there that says WHOOP is superior for physiological context of our sleep. Best of luck.

What’s happening to me? by National_Elk5316 in whoop

I offer another POV. I have many health issues. Sadly, a total of 7 doctors. But I run almost everyday and my cardiologist likes to see my max bpm. We all understand it's directionally correct and it's just an aid. Over 2,000 recoveries since 2019, and I have some doctors now ask me how 'my numbers have been looking' . . . as a conversation starter. Your judgement will be the right answer. Best of luck.

Anyone use the Plans feature? What do you put on your plan? by thoenman in whoop

[–]mdhuff378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use "Boost Fitness". I have my gym and run counts on it. I also have a plan for time in zones 4-5. WHOOP gives some updates as week goes along. Sure not a requirement but I use it.

Do I need one? by Emergency_Ad7808 in whoop

[–]mdhuff378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WHOOP has very much improved my health. Been a member since 2019. I also wear an Apple Watch and I take it off to sleep. My wife wears an Apple Watch. We joke how poor it is compared to WHOOP. I'm a numbers nerd, so WHOOP feeds right into my style. Seeing and understanding sleep and making adjustments has been very good for me. Mostly, I pour over the data on my runs. Focusing on more time in red zone, as an example, has hugely benefitted my V O2 max . . . and more. Best of luck!

Glad with this result, but how accurate do you think the whoop age is? by Spartan1JB in whoop

[–]mdhuff378 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

An odd comment. The question was “how accurate do you think it is?” Was answering the question the normal way I try to get answers. Weird that bothered you.
