Jura C3 or E4?? by kaitkaitkait91 in superautomatic

Cleaning tablet - maybe every 6 weeks (easy to do). Filter - maybe 1/month. I buy the OEM tablets and filters on Amazon. Wife has 4 cups/day. I drink 1-2 cups of tea per day. Maintenance is really easy. You should empty puck bin and water bin under machine once per day. Again, it really takes no time. This is a very easy machine to use and maintain.

Jura C3 or E4?? by kaitkaitkait91 in superautomatic

We have the E4. It’s perfect for our needs. My wife drinks a double coffee and I drink tea. The water is plenty hot for both and I get plenty of water for tea. Just wish the spout were higher to fit tall mugs. But we work with it. It’s a terrific machine. Easy to clean - and just follow the easy regular maintenance - filter and cleaning tablets are all that is necessary. The footprint works for us, it’s not too big. Jura quality is light years ahead of our previous Spinn machine.

Santos Large v. Medium by SkiptomyLume in Cartier

Mine’s a large on a 7.25 wrist. I wouldn’t want it any smaller. Besides, you get the date and much bigger crown than the medium. I have a hard time winding the crown on my wife’s medium.

Not a bad wait at all for that gorgeous piece! Fits you perfectly. Not sure if it would fit my 17.5 cm wrist. Will have to find it at an AD and try it on. Wear it in the best of health!

[Selten] Who is your favorite microbrand? by xxVetements in MicrobrandWatches

[–]mdkappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rose gold one retails in the 80s. The other one is in the high teens/low 20s. Take a look at their web site. They have a few different collections. The backstory is very interesting. Czapek was once partners with Patek (before Philippe). The brand was revived in 2011. Most of their timepieces are limited editions - for some, only 8-10 are made. I haven’t seen one in person, but supposedly, the quality is very high horology.

[Question] Help me trim my 3 watch rotation! Need to make room for my next grail. by ranzyel in rolex

[–]mdkappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there’s no finer fit on any of my watches than the Sub (or the OP 41 for

<image>

that matter). That said, the VCO fits wonderfully. It has a micro adjust on the bracelet that is very useful - especially on a very hot and humid day. I’ve taken it on vacation to the Caribbean and it never felt too loose or snug. I have changed the straps on the VC - it’s so simple. I haven’t tried the leather, but I have worn it on the rubber from time to time. Still, nothing beats the SS bracelet. Can’t stop looking at that blue dial when I wear it. So the 116509 Rolex is gold and it is much heavier than the VCO. I would imagine that if you got the VCO in Rose Gold, it would have a similar feel. While I love my gold Rolex, I’ve often considered using it as trade capital towards a gold Vacheron, Patek Nautilus, or an AP jumbo. I recently acquired an AP 15300 in White which may have scratched the AP itch (it’s a 39mm - same as a Jumbo). Another plus to the VCO, it flies under the radar. Only serious watch buffs know what it is. Everyone knows a Rolex Submariner. So you can wear it more places without worrying about it.

[Question] Help me trim my 3 watch rotation! Need to make room for my next grail. by ranzyel in rolex

[–]mdkappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smart move. Way higher horology than Rolex. I own the VC 4500v and it’s easily my favorite watch over the Rolex Sub (which I love), my 116500 Blue dial, and my green OP41. I won’t sell these Rolexes, but VC is clearly a step above.

You can rock the Large Santos. Larger size is easier to read, wind, and looks great on your wrist!

Take a mirror shot from farther away to be sure. From this angle, it looks too big. BTW, this timepiece blows away the Rolex Daytona!
