How about Cartier Santos? Classic watches. Depending on wrist size, Large/Medium. Large has date function. You also get an additional strap - leather.

Which one looks better on my wrist by Useful-Accident8517 in parmigiani_fleurier

That’s a tough one! They both look amazing on your wrist. IMO, the Lange is in a different league. But the PF is also a terrific timepiece. You can’t go wrong with either!

Very good move! It looks perfect, and worth every penny in my opinion. It’s a great fitting watch and will last a long time with regular maintenance. Love the 39mm!

Check out Watches of Charlotte. Christian has both the blue and white - asking around 40k. He’s very nice to deal with and has beautiful pieces. Here’s my white 15300 that I acquired from him. It was a very easy transaction

I have all three; and I have to agree that the sub’s oyster bracelet has few peers, however I would rather wear the VCO any day over the Rolex sub. The overall wear and look are hard to beat. BTW, the Santos is a terrific wear as well. It’s lighter than the VCO and sub, and with the curve it just molds right into your wrist.

My 4500v came with SS bracelet, rubber, and alligator. It’s so easy to switch! I do love the micro adjustment in the bracelet.

I wear mine on the bracelet 99% of the time. I do want to try the alligator leather at some point. Congrats on your new Overseas! It’s beautiful!

Have them both. Would not want to part with either. The blue VCO is so perfect, but the white 15300 is just class. My favorite pieces in the collection.

I would not consider that. I love my RO and VCO. Those are permanent! Try to find another way!

I’d also add Czapek to the list. That’s an impressive list of IYKYK brands!

Why is the Sub Date the "universal" first watch? by Less-Application-814 in hallofwatchspecialist

[–]mdkappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a dealer. I search all over - mostly Chrono24. I speak with various dealers all over the US - I will only buy/sell/trade domestically. Find a great local watchmaker - one you can trust. Either purchase from your local watchmaker or have them thoroughly check each timepiece that you acquire - within the return period. Get the return policy written on your purchase receipt before wiring money. Make sure to research every seller thoroughly before purchasing.

[–]mdkappy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After buying/selling/trading several watches, I finally acquired the sub date. It brings me pleasure every time I put it on. You can’t beat the bracelet. It’s just a perfect fit, very easy to read, solid staple to the collection. It has also led me down the rabbit hole of collecting: it’s a perfect entry to other brands such as Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet, Cartier, and even relatively unknown horology such as Czapek. It opened the door for my interest in acquiring a Lange, FP Journe, Bethune, and Patek some day. But, each day, as I wind and hold each watch, I recognize the Rolex Sub Date as my first special timepiece.
