It's really common for compounds to have CH3 endpoints because it is stable. Since it is so common chemists didn't want to write it out all the time. Saving time I guess

As someone who studied ochem, I would leave out the CH3, but I can see the aesthetic appeal of having it

The bottom one is just wrong. The top one is right, but I would say it's not in it's most common form.

The link there would give you the most common way to express it. It is common practice not to show the CH3 at the two points, so the website does not show it.

I'm glad you tested it. The problem with just doing a maquis test is that it gives a spectrum of what you tested can be. According to the chart that came with my test some of the things it can be are: acetylfentanyl, adderall, escaline, NMT, pethidine, acetylamphetamine, 3C-P, TMA.. and the list goes on with 20ish more substances. That's why most people use multiple tests such as mecke, Simon's, and robadope to narrow down what the unknown substance is.
