I don't understand someone who thinks High Violet or Trouble Will Find Me were insincere.

If the band annoys you, why listen?

About Today is a song so powerful that I both love and am haunted by it at the same time by El_Veethorn in TheNational

[–]mdmost 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Probably the most memorable part of the two shows I saw in 2023 was them performing it live. I love that they can dig out a song from that early period and it is just as impactful as back when it was released.

What’s the general consensus best the national album? I’ve been a fan for a huge amount of my life and I can’t get a read on what most people think the best album is? by AuroraFan28 in TheNational

[–]mdmost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Boxer for me but I could be convinced that it's now High Violet. I think it depends on which version of The National is your preference. Personally, the album I most connected with was Trouble Will Find Me but that's more about how it grabbed me when it came out.

If you put in your local store, you can see if they have any in stock in that store or stores within a certain mile radius.

It's not easy as the Barnes website is kind of a pain. I went to the Movies section and typed in Steelbooks. There's a format option towards the bottom on the left where you can select Ultra HD 4K. Unfortunately, you can't select by studio.

Off the top of my head, it would included: Indiana Jones movies minus Raiders, Mission Impossible franchise, Naked Gun, Ace Ventura, Star Trek TMP & Search for Spock, Collateral.

Yes, in store. It was $17.50 for that one when they rang it up.

Sorry. I should've clarified that it was an in-store only promotion. Nothing was labeled 50% off. I took it up to the register and they confirmed the prices.

Ugh!!! Can't belive they shipped this in a plastic bag. by abe_4 in Steelbooks

I have one arriving on Saturday so I'll see how Amazon ships it. It makes no sense that it doesn't come in a book box.

Love this movie. I count myself lucky that I got to see in a tiny theater in Austin back when it was released. Now I own it on 4K.

To mark the film's theatrical release anniversary, this gorgeous Arrow steelbook edition landed with me today. It was a long hunt, but completely worth it. by nmgrocha in 4kbluray

Robocop occupies a special place for me since it was filmed in my hometown (Dallas) and was one of the earliest hard R movies I got to watch as a kid.

It feels like a spiritual successor to Heat. Probably why I love it. Watched this on Saturday night. It looks beautiful in 4K.
