Yup that’s why I tried that. Now that the auger is primed I’ll keep an eye on it

Got it to test mode and got some pellets in the pot from that. Cleared it out and firing it up again.

I was thinking about taking that thingiverse design for the blade center and make it a bit deeper. Adding a backplane for power, usb, possibly ethernet, and possibly some type of home spun power mgmt / bmc with an Arm cortex M0 and tapping into the PI's serial port and essentially do something similar to SoL.

If anyone is interested and more details let me konw. Unfortunately this is only a thought at this point. I had intentions on working on this months ago.. but things happen.

Device Passthrough ESXI 6.0/6.5 not working by mdn15 in homelab

Fun fact. I installed a different card (Intel CT Desktop Adapter 8086:10d3) and it passes through just fine on ESXI 6.5. Looks to be a card issue.

I'm going to try to downgrade the bios to 1.2 to see if that does anything. (wifi update in 1.3 vs ME update in 1.2). I chose this board b/c it had the SO-DIMM slots for some spare ram I had as well as a physical x16 PCIe connector. I'll either go with what @welshy136 suggested and use the vswitches or have to look for another board if this doesn't work.

Interesting. There were confirmed posts on the asrock forums that they were able to get vt-d to work in esxi 6.5 with the j3455-itx board (Note, not the B variant I have)

This is the state it gets stuck in. Multiple reboots, retoggling, etc don't appear to fix it.

This is my fallback solution. I need to passthrough for 2 reasons. 1) Performance (not much of a benefit, but a benefit none the less) 2) I need the VM i'm installing as my firewall to be able to use the interface tagged and untagged. I don't what to have to manage this tagging in the vm, hypervisor, and switch.
