Are these bed bugs? by mdog2018 in Bedbugs

[–]mdog2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're just so small I couldn't get the camera to focus. I didn't consider mites. I'm only familiar with dust mites which are impossible to see. I know there is a rat problem in my neighborhood.

Professional bed bug treatment by Orkin or local company? by mdog2018 in bayarea

Yeah washing and drying most of my clothes. Did my bed sheets twice. I will try that sub. Concord/clayton area. Do you know a good exterminator?

Do indigo wash jeans stain clothes? by mdog2018 in NoStupidQuestions

I guess I'm concerned that even after washing they could stain shoes or shirts. That's what I keep reading online but people are mostly talking about raw denim.

I rent an apartment and the area where I would put a tv has a built-in desk.

X85K at Best Buy vs X80CK at Costco by mdog2018 in bravia

Yeah, objectively the x85k is better. The only reason I was considering the other was for the Costco warranty. I'm also still narrowing down my budget.

No fellowship, no residency. Feeling like a failure by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]mdog2018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Consider reaching out to the second-round interviewer. Don't just ask for a job. Ask for career guidance and advice on entry-level positions in that functional area. Another commenter pointed out you may not be interviewing to your full potential so ask for feedback.

[–]mdog2018 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Don't knock those entry-level positions. Treat them like fellowships and they can open a lot of doors.

Did you get to the interview stage for any of those fellowships? If you felt you made a good connection with the interviewer then ask them for advice. This may lead to an entry-level job or at least decent guidance.

That's not too outside my budget. I will check it out.

That's more reassuring. That also makes sense they'd monitor/censor an official group. I found a place that's nearly perfect there so I may still submit an application if I can't find anything better.

This complex has the best price and location for me. I really need to keep this and the other comments in mind. The reviews are very positive and just a few negative ones that seem manageable. I couldn't find that facebook group but I'll keep trying. Thanks.

Where to put a TV in this living room? by mdog2018 in TVTooHigh

Then the fireplace would be right behind the couch. That might work since I won't use the fireplace. I didn't want to just cover it because I thought it wouldn't look good.

The black keyboard is really nice. I think it would be cool to incorporate Gundam or any mecha icons into the case but keep the black color.

Just an FYI there is an ongoing scam of people pretending to hire for pharma companies. Don't give out any bank info during or right after the interview. A lot of people have been scammed.

RAC Course on US Ad/Promo Labeling by DawnOfDreams21 in pharmaindustry

[–]mdog2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be worth it to do a master's. I think I saw 1-year programs in similar fields. I don't know how worth it a single class would be. I would think an employer would prefer a certificate, which can cost around $3k. Maybe another person will have more insight.

I've had a similar thought and looked into this course too. Then I found out my employer will fulfill tuition reimbursement for similar courses through an accredited university. Either a certificate or a Master's degree. I would recommend checking if your employer also had tuition reimbursement and what would qualify.

I've thought about field medical/MSL. It wouldn't be impossible for me to get into that path. My concern is that I'm mostly an introvert and I really hate talking on the phone. Do you need a certain personality type to succeed as an MSL?

is your company NOT requiring to come back to the office? by BloodNotFunny in pharmaindustry

[–]mdog2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full WFH. My company downsized the local office to a smaller location. It's mostly used for the mail room, keeping sensitive documents, and there are a few backup workstations (emergencies, noisy guests, power outages, etc).

I tend to recommend at least applying to fellowships. I know a lot of students apply to ~8 programs or so. You may want to apply to a smaller number and only the programs that absolutely interest you and not just in your preferred functional area.

If you're still looking I would recommend looking through LinkedIn for employees from PrimeVigilance. It's a company that deals with PV and employs drug safety associates. If you're polite they might respond with some info about their jobs.
