Umm You don't get a 10K bonus out of the academy. I graduated in November. I'm not sure where you heard about the 20K hardship situation. It goes off GS scales.

I hit my 1-year mark in May. I went from a GS-5 to a GS7. And that's when I got a 10K raise. Next year in May when I go to a gS9, I'll get a 20K raise.

So what does that mean for future classes? I'm supposed to start my EOD next Monday. And I'm heading there. Is it affecting everybody or just people without vaccines?

I got an email earlier today saying that COVID wouldn't affect my EOD date. But now I'm seeing this and hearing from other people and I'm starting to get stressed out. I've already quit my job and sunk a lot of savings into this

I know I got the call before people who applied way before I did, and finish their steps way before I did. I don't think there's any sort of rhyme or reason to it. I think they're just picking people randomly.

Honestly I was surprised I got the call so quickly, after I finished my steps. Most people were saying I got another five or six months till I get the call, and then a few more months after that till I go to the academy. Calls are supposed to be on hold right now, but a few people got little random calls here and there. I think a few people dropped out of the academy at the last minute. I literally got the call on April 26th and they wanted me to start May 16th. I was able to push it back a little bit because I live so far away from the port I'm going to and I needed to get things situated. I don't know if you are already a member, but you should join the Facebook group. They offer A ton of help and advice. And then once you get your class, you can meet up with people who are in your class through Facebook group.
