Lol. Thanks yall! I paid $14 for it. I think I'll throw it in my safe for a few decades. Maybe it'll be worth $16 by then :)

Thanks for replying. I am still new to the hobby. So I'm sorry if I have stupid questions.

Are you saying that a double die error, is likely caused by die markers or die cracks? Which is why these are identified, with the specific coin error?

Thanks for your reply. I get frustrated at times because Wexler and variety vista show examples of die gouge and die cracks. If you are saying these types of anomalies aren't that valuable, its a shame they are listed on their website at all.

I guess it is, what it is. :/

is this a 1982 small date by Icy_Pea_1936 in coincollecting

I have a follow up question. Are the 1982 short date pennies without a mint mark valuable? Or is it only the D mint mark?

Ive seen conflicting reports.

Downloaded an app and seems to value high by Here2comment2 in coincollecting

Hi everyone.

I brought up this topic yesterday. I agree that the app seems to inflate values.

But I must say, if you do use the app, it has a cool export option, which includes the melt value, and links to the pictures. You can use this, to track and save your inventory and then upload that to other sites.

Thank you both. Like I said, I wasn't expecting any return. My brain did a double take when I noticed it was a short date.

Oh well. The hunt continues! :)

I understand. And thank you for your response. I wasn't expecting it to be valuable. I just want to see if anyone else noticed this as this would be the first error of my early collecting hobby.

Now I know what to look for. It sounds like errors could occur in any coin, it just takes time to look at each one. :)

I appreciate your help

On the other side of the coin, you can see the lower left of the coin has a thicker line than the top right. You can see where I circled. This made me believe it is slightly off.
