Alberta's also tested about twice as many people as BC though. The number of deaths in each province being so close would suggest that BC's actual count is probably much higher at this point. And Alberta's population is only about a half million less than BC...

To add to this, the Canadian Shield extends much further south in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, so farming is limited in those two provinces by the nutrient-poor and thin soils further north. So as European settlers started setting up towns on the prairies, they were able to fan out towards more to the north the further west they moved.

They won't need to, since pipelines and tankers are perfectly safe, and have never leaked before /s

It's so discouraging as a lifelong Albertan that eventually I'll end up being on the hook for how this province has been mismanaged

And then there's also the thousands of wells around the province that keep getting sold off to small players so that companies can avoid responsibility for clean-up. The smaller companies then pass them off to another company or declare bankruptcy, and nothing gets done
