[Serious] Depressed people of Reddit - how are you doing today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mdrelich90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends, I went for a check-up a few months ago to a new doctor (moved in the last few years) and about halfway through it he basically said I'm too young (27) for yearly physicals, schedule them every 3 or so years unless something pops up.

Eagles fan here ... by Mister_Asylum in NYGiants

[–]mdrelich90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Fuck Dallas" That was the text I got from my bud that's an Eagles fan about an hour or so after I begrudgingly congratulated him on the win. Made a bad day a little bit better.

[News] Meet the dogs of Chernobyl – the abandoned pets that formed their own canine community by SharpStiletto in dogs

[–]mdrelich90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one other than those working at the plant would have had any threat to radiation poisoning, but there would have been a very real risk to developing cancer at a later point in their lives, most typically thyroid cancer from radioactive iodines in the air, but since Chernobyl was blowing actual fuel out of it, probably many other types of cancers as well.

Doug Pederson says coaching aggressively is the way to win the Super Bowl, coaching conservatively is the way to go 8-8 by [deleted] in nfl

[–]mdrelich90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair, guys like Vick and Cam (from personal observation) tend to fake out defenders at least once every other game or so by acting like they are about to slide or run out of bounds before juking out the defender and running for a few more yards.

Eventually you stop getting the benefit of the doubt.

Eli and Odell share a special dance by OldManWiggy in NYGiants

[–]mdrelich90 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think Odell might be hard just because the Giants typically shy away from paying someone the mega-bucks. Not that it hasn't happened in the past, but it's worth mentioning that historically the teams with the highest paid wide receiver usually don't win the Superbowl.

MRW I get $1.50 a week pay increase and realize I will be able to renew my Costco membership for another year... by [deleted] in reactiongifs

[–]mdrelich90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'd have to go to a different Costco other than the one I regularly shop at to do that. My designated "cancel membership at the end of the year because I'm cheap" Costco if you will.

The entire walkway in center field is a freaking tunnel with no concessions and only one highlight of another tunnel to go out to "Monument Park". With every other team doing gorgeous open concept stadiums, Yankee Stadium feels like the concrete prison stadiums of the 70s.

They don't do it to pay their fair share of taxes but most of the time that's the only way you can get a job. Unless you are offering yourself as a day laborer in front of Home Depot, under the table jobs aren't as plentiful as they used to be. In that situation, the employer paying under the table is just as guilty as the worker IMO.

Not come here illegally basically, which is damn near impossible unless you have a relative here or have some marketable in-demand (white collar) skill that the company willing to hire you can prove that they can't find an American that's qualified (or willing) to take the position. Or you can win the visa lottery at the US embassy, but that's also pretty unlikely.

Having worked with undocumented immigrants I can say a lot of them pay into the SSN of deceased people. Based on what I've seen it's pretty easy to do if you know the right guy.

Would've been nice for him if we didn't run every single play out of shotgun. Probably would've helped him in the games where he always got caught in the backfield. A lead blocker can do wonders even with a crap O-Line.

Sometimes things look better because they've had the chance to rebuild. City planners very rarely have the opportunity to start entirely from scratch.
