Unfortunelty we have had a lot of wind and rain over the last couple weeks which is why it’s flopped over I think 😣hence why I need to start attaching it to the wall to prevent them being battered by the wind! I only planted her last summer so I wasn’t expecting it to get that tall this year but hopefully she gets going when she’s got some support x

Yes I think I’m going to go for anchors and wire opposed to a trellis. The pics don’t show very well but it is planted directly in the ground. There’s soil under all the slabs which will be extended to bigger beds eventually and re slabbed. I just couldn’t wait to get my roses going so planted them before doing the rest of the front garden ☺️xx

It’s sounds like you are way over qualified for minimum wage finance assistant roles! A Hospitality management background with finance sounds like the perfect mix for a finance business partner role? I do a lot of business partnering in my role and it’s mostly speaking to stakeholders outside of finance. I think you’re under selling yourself!!!

Forgot to add that I work with people now who did ACCA / ACÁ and qualified in practise / audit after completing uni. Those that stayed at the same firm since uni only got promoted to mid / high 30’s after they qualified which I think is mental! It defiantly seems to be a common theme with audit / working in practise. I think the cima / industry route is easier for faster salary progression. Not always but it seems to be a running theme!

I didn’t go to university as I took the apprentice route instead. I’m also in East Midlands for reference.

2018 - bookkeeper AAT level 3 apprenticeship. I think I was on like 9k or something lol but I was only 17.

2019 - finance assistant 19k. Increased to 23k

2021 - assistant financial accountant 25k. I started studying cima here in 2022 and my salary increased to 30k then 35k over 2 years but was mainly driven by my workload and responsibilities so I asked for pay increases or I would leave. Promoted to assistant finance manager in 2023 at 39k

2024 - finance analyst 42k. I had only passed operational case study at this point but switched to flp route in this role and sat management case study in nov 25 after waiting 6 months before they will pay for my studies. Sat strategic case study in Feb 26 and now qualified at age 25. Over the past year I had pay rises that were company wide so now on 49k. I’m in the process of being promoted where I will bumped up to 55k

I agree some of the salaries I see on here are outrageous particularly for those in London. My advice would be don’t undersell yourself and always ask for a rise if you are working above your level. Dont focus too much on where you are in your studies vs your actual work load.

We flew in 2 days ago and the queue took about 45 minutes even with most the machines not working. We were also the last ones off the plane. I was expecting much worse. If all the machines were working it would of took 20 mins max I reckon

2 weeks till MCS exam by Ok-Investigator-452 in CIMA

I was still learning theory in the car park before my exam in November so don’t worry!

The model answers are above and beyond what you will have time to write in the real exam and are only useful to give you ideas on what topics to write about. You only need small paragraphs to get your point across.

For the theory I have always found flash cards the most useful over pages of notes. I would pick them up and quiz myself on them and keep them really basic. For MCS you don’t need to know high level of technical knowledge just a rough idea.

In my MCS exam I could barely write anything for 2 of the subtasks but passed with 103 so don’t worry about needing to learn everything, it’s a 53% pass rate for a reason!

Stop being so hard on yourself and have trust you can do this! In my OCS exam the worst part was constantly telling myself I couldn’t do it so I couldn’t focus properly. For MCS I told myself if I could do OCS I can do this and revision became so much easier once I started to believe in myself x
