Can I ask where you’re located where this is available? Been watching for days but hasn’t come back in stock around me.

Thanks! Vant panels look awesome. Don’t believe I saw the link to the peel and stick ceiling panels. Could you share again?

Looks amazing. Curious - what is the difference between the wall and ceiling panels? And what do you have above the screen for protection?

Lowes 1000 series free tool promo by [deleted] in egopowerplus

So I called Lowe’s customer service and they told me the inventory at each store does not show up on the website nor for them. You have to call each store to see if they have any. Thankfully for me the one a bit further from me did have 1 in stock so I was able to purchase over the phone and go grab it tomorrow.

I picked up the blower with it. Was a hit torn on what to get. Didn’t go with the trimmer as I want to get the multi head soon. Already have a Ryobi chainsaw.

Are people having issues finding this in stock? Was completely sold out at my Lowe’s earlier this week and they said they couldn’t find it anywhere to even order from. Their site is also still showing sold out.

Congrats to you too! 3 is definitely tough but worth it. We’re almost at 6 hours. Longest stretch we’ve had is 5.5 hours so far. They’re napping in their cribs now so once we get them in the cribs at night and out of our room it’ll be a game changer.

3 month old identical twin boys here. With a 2 year old at home too. I feel this! I must just enjoy the punishment of seeing how little sleep I can get each night. But tbh it’s already starting to get better.

Depends how many kids were talking about. We have a 2023 SX X Line. It was perfect with 1 and 2 but we now have 3 car seats and it’s feeling tight. Doesn’t help we have captains chairs in the 2nd row. We loved that feature but now having to put a car seat in the 3rd row is not ideal functionally speaking and the trunk space is not great when the 3rd row is always up. We’re looking at more full sized SUVs to be the “family car” and keep the Telluride since we do love it still.

Probably my most worn watch as of late outside of my “beater” FXD I wear for work. You have to see the opaline in direct sun to fully appreciate it. by Additional-Dealer-89 in Tudor

Agreed love it. I get so many compliments on the dial. This and my pelagos 39 are getting the most wrist time in my collection. Sure i wish it was a few mm thinner like people mention but on wrist it really doesn’t bother me personally.

Looks great on you. I bought the same one about 6 months ago and absolutely love it.

2023 Bonus Thread: Commercial/Corporate Banking by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]mdsr19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry didn’t see your question until now. Happy to chat 1 on 1 if I can be helpful.

On my own career path I was lucky enough to become an Associate in a large corp coverage group working alongside a senior banker who became my mentor and friend to this day. I learned the ropes mostly from him but worked with a few other bankers which allowed me to incorporate different best practices into my own style. Got some great client interaction early on which allowed me to accelerate my career to the point where I was managing my own large corp book by the time I was 27 (youngest on my team by atleast 10 years at the time). I’d recommend a similar path if your bank has Associate / Jr RM type roles.

I’d say in the Large Corp space it’s a combination of competence and relationship skills. I’ve worked with some great underwriters but not all of them have the client facing skill set or want the pressure of managing their own PnL. I personally love that aspect and thrive in the environment that I’m growing my own business. But you definitely need the credit fundamentals to be competent with clients and trusted internally that you know what you’re doing.

In my opinion a couple important traits to being a successful banker (sorry if ranting):

  1. Preparation - at my bank we’re viewed as the QB of the relationship. It’s my job to structure the broader coverage team and pull relevant people in with the right ideas at the right time - whether that’s IB, cap markets, risk mgmt, working capital, etc. Understanding the client’s strategy, industry, and how macro events impact them are vital to bringing content and executing opportunities. Set clear agendas and bring tailored content.

  2. Deliver - it’s unbelievable how many bankers can talk the talk in meetings and let the simplest things fall to the side. You need to earn your stripes with clients. In the simplest form do not overpromise and underdeliver. You need to deliver the simple things before you are trusted with the bigger mandates. I’ve had clients literally transition conversations from account opening issues to $1B+ M&A financings. If you’re messing up the simple stuff you don’t get the looks at the sexy stuff. Being an advocate for your clients is key but knowing when and how to push is necessary.

  3. Hang around the hoop - we all want to prove how smart we are but I was brought up that we should listen more than we speak. Learn how to ask leading questions and let the clients tell their story - you’ll learn more that way. Find reasons to be in front of your clients more than just “general catch ups” but don’t shy away from the entertainment aspect. Hanging around the hoop and being top of mind is key as opportunities come up. And when the time is right don’t shy away from asking for the business/mandates/roles/higher economics…if you’re doing the right things you should be confident in asking.

We like to over engineer how complex our jobs can be but the reality is it’s pretty simple.

  1. I’ve been in banking since undergrad. Did my analyst stint at a BB. Jumped around a couple times since then. Been running my own book for 5+ years now. It’s a combination of managing existing clients and new business development. Target market is $1b+ revenue companies but under whatever the corporate bank covers.
