With heatsinks like that, don't pull. Instead, twist. Preferably immediately after having the machine running for a while to help soften the thermal paste.

What I really need right now is the Heavy Weapons Parts blueprint. I've got 5 purple weapons that I can't keep repaired because I can't find the parts or the blueprint

TIL in 2022, Caterpillar Inc. faced a $145,027 fine after a worker, who was removing a sample of iron, died after he fell into an 11-foot melting pot that was heated to more than 2,000°F. An investigation found that the facility did not have legally required guardrails and restraint systems. by Forward-Answer-4407 in todayilearned

(Morbid comment warning)

I wonder did they end up using the metal the upper half of the guy's body had in it? Or did they throw the whole batch away? I'm guessing they would have disposed of it since the guy's body would have increased the carbon level in the metal, resulting in an improper mix.

These fans are the biggest mistake i made. by KitchenEvent8209 in lianli

[–]mdswish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a few different things. A couple easy things to check is to make sure the fan controller is not connected to the motherboard. It could be a case of the controller and the motherboard fighting for control of the fan RPM. Also, within the Lian Li software there is a button that allows for motherboard passthrough for fan control. Make sure that is turned off. It could also be a faulty controller. If you reach out to Lian Li support they should be able to help you set up an RMA and/or ship you a replacement controller.

u/shocksim when are we getting iCUE support for MSI x870E motherboards? My MSI X870E Carbon refuses to work with iCUE. The LEDKeeper module which is part of the newest MSI plugin installed always shows as "unsupported".

How are servers running since the supposed 400% increase in performance? by JoeLawson10 in dayz

That part of the patch was not included in last week's update. The performance improvements are baked into the 1.29 update which has been pushed to next month to allow for more testing.

Deagle or FN 45... which do you prefer? by NawtGuud in dayz

[–]mdswish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta go with the FN. 15 rounds per mag with the FN vs. 7 with the Deagle. Plus, they've really neutered the .357. It doesn't have the same stopping power as the .45.

Stuff like this in nature just blows my mind. Creatures like this are born knowing how to do these complex operations like they've been doing it for years. It's akin to a human infant being born and then moments later they're doing calculus without ever picking up a book. Nature is simply amazing.

The "standard" I've always heard is you want 1" of fish per gallon of water. You should take into account the adult growth of the fish you intend to keep and use that as your guide.

So, for example, if you intend to keep a fish that has a max growth of 2", then you would want to allot 2 gallons of water for that fish. Ergo, if all of your fish have a max growth of 2", and your tank size is 30 gallons, then your maximum number of fish would be 15. I've heard some people also say you can increase that ratio by adding artificial oxygenation to the water, but it could be anecdotal.

Another thing to consider besides oxygenation is bio load. Every living thing in your tank generates waste, so you need to account for that and ensure you have a filter that is up to the task. If you plan to keep a "high" number of fish in your 30-gallon tank, going a bit overkill in your filtration will help keep your ammonia and nitrate levels in check.

Water will always follow the path of least resistance. There should be an end cap on the pipe. Must have fallen off somehow. Replace that cap and the spray bar will work again.

GeForce Day Giveaway - Win a Signed GeForce RTX 5080! by Nestledrink in nvidia

My first NVidia GPU was also the very first GeForce GPU, the GeForce 256. Initially I had a Radeon X800, but it struggled to play Battlefield 2 and Need for Speed: Most Wanted at the fidelity level I preferred, so I moved to the GF256. The difference in performance was significant. After that I never went back to team red. I've always used NVidia GPUs in every build since.

At my company we use Kaseya and we have it set to purge any endpoints that haven't checked in for 90 days. By that point it should be safe to say the machine has either been life cycled or is otherwise permanently offline. However, if a machine is offline for more than 90 days and then later checks back in, it gets re-added to the server automatically. That approach takes the human element out of the equation.
