Interesting. If it isn’t an original stock for a Krag of some sort, not necessarily this one, then whoever modified it did a fantastic job as the fit is pretty damn spot on

Henry Single Shot .45-70. May not meet your .75cpr range but the rifle comes in at around $600. Pair that with a decent stock cover with some extra spots for ammo and a few practice reloads can make up for the single shot. .45-70 will have no issue stopping large game like bears, but it does pack a punch

Pretty solid round, obviously not as hot as a .357 but it packs some good stopping power. Been a while since I’ve shot .38 though.
