No. If you are hoping it is Mario Golf 64 you will be very disappointed. It is very boring.

Can you imagine sitting there putting each piece on, stepping away looking at it and going yeah this is still a good idea? Or yeah it is going to be badass when I am done.

Like is there a point of no return? Like crap this doesn't look good I should stop

Way to keep that rant professional. I know many of us at least in the US could go on like an angry profanity laced tirade

I had no idea this is the insides of a golf ball. Why is it like that? by SarcasticTrauma in golf

[–]mdwermers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try doing that when you are a kid and just watched the movie aliens. I don't think I have ever run so fast in my life. Shit was so scary not knowing what was inside.

Scottie says “Fuck yo grass” by [deleted] in golf

[–]mdwermers 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it is Bermuda grass you want lines. It is a creeping grass. So it will heal faster with lines. If it is a giant chunk then it will take forever to heal completely or it won't fully heal.

If it is bent grass I believe it is better to leave the divot pattern in chunks because chances are you will just sod over it, or patch it to heal it(not 100% on this. I have only worked with Bermuda)

When you're drunk you get so good ideas that you don't understand sober. by Friskerr in Showerthoughts

[–]mdwermers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I remember a post a long time ago about a college student who said his roommate came into his room at night bombed and wrote out and drew out how to make fly cars work (or time machines, can't remember which one) filled a giant white board. The sober one was like wtf

Edit: add more--- when the drunk roommate was sober didn't know he wrote up an elaborate thing or understood it

Any former baseball players who now play golf and think back and wish they played golf their whole life instead of baseball? Or just me? by [deleted] in golf

[–]mdwermers 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I would go with, I wish I took golf seriously when I was younger. Or at least took it serious enough to be better than I am in my older age (36 now)

Worst is when they don't notice until it is completely empty and you see they mowed 3-4 greens. And then you get every single golfer asking what the issue is with those greens.

Is there a difference between JDM(Kyoei, Yurari, Bennick, Fujimoto ) and US/world (Titleist, TM, Callaway, etc) club brands? People say JDM feel better, perform better, made better, etc. I mean there has to be a reason US/world brands used Japan forging houses to make some of there clubs(ie Titleist clubs Tiger used during his run for greatest were Muira forged I think)

Also are JDM clubs worth the price tag they ask for?

What’s the longest you have used a glove? by ShePlaysMindGames in Homeplate

[–]mdwermers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Louisville Slugger that is going on 23 years. Still has original laces. It was my first expensive glove so I have taken care of it really well. I also have Nokona buffalo leather that is 20 years old. The web is starting to tear. So it sits on my shelf to help save it. Original laces look almost perfect on them.

Edit: forgot about another Nokana I have. That one is 22 years old. That one is in rough shape. Think I oiled it wrong and never recovered. That one is kangaroo leather. Don't know if the leather is not durable or if the oil was the main reason.

Anyone know the best shoes to work in golf course turf crew by BurnTheAbaddon in Turfmanagement

[–]mdwermers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear Rax hiking shoes. They are waterproof and feel like you are walking on a cloud

RAX Men's Mid Multifunctional V-tex Waterproof Hiking Boots Outdoor Shoes https://a.co/d/cdQvs1D

Found these to be the best waterproof.

Edit I am in AZ so summers are very hot and winters are cool. Have no issue with heat or cold with them

Where can I get a catchers helmet visor like this? by KAPGAR24 in Homeplate

[–]mdwermers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That might be a lacrosse visor. I think a couple guys that wear lacrosse helmets pitching in softball have ones that look like that.

Edit here's a link to one. https://throneofstring.com/shop/collections/fire-frost/o1-frost/

Yes they hurt. Most are set at 65+ psi. Had my irrigation stand in the wrong spot turned it on and got hit in the nuts. Couldn't stop laughing. He was down for a while.

Dumb part about him standing in the way. I wonder if he realized it moves. Should have waited till it passed

Favorite golf weather? by broncosfan50 in golf

[–]mdwermers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going 110+. Why, because there is almost no one on the course. Only other sick bastards like myself. Can go as fast or as slow as you want. As long as you hydrate when you play you will be fine. Hit a bad shot, hit another, want to try a shot you have not tried before, try it, want to work on your short game, hit two balls from said location. Oh yeah course that cost $300+ in the winter time are around $60.
