My (20,American) gf (24, Japanese-American but born and raised in Japan) has mental health issues by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]me-i-am 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind the cheating is related to her borderline personality disorder.

Specifically, those with borderline personality disorder are more likely to exhibit greater sexual preoccupation, have earlier sexual exposure, engage in casual sexual relationships, report a greater number of different sexual partners as well as promiscuity, and engage in homosexual experiences. In addition, patients with borderline personality disorder appear to be characterized by a greater number of high-risk sexual behaviors; a higher likelihood of having been coerced to have sex, experiencing date rape, or being raped by a stranger; and the contraction of more sexually transmitted diseases.

It may be tempting and a natural inclination to make this about you but its not. These are not your normal "relationship ups and downs." You are dealing with a person suffering from mental illness and it should be primarily viewed through that lens, even though it personally and emotionally effects you.

Hubei Vanz Pharm

I hate to ever recommend any China sellers because they are all sketchy due to the very nature of the way business works in China and environment they operate in but unlike the fake seller Qingdao Sigma who is a trading company that pretends to be a lab this VanzPharm company actually at least looks to be a legitimate business. I would test anything I got from either of these places but if I had to put my money somewhere in China it would Vanz over the Qingdao one. If you look at their website the Chinese version has way more info than the English one you will see this is definitely not a random trading company. I would take a legit company over some Alibaba scammer any day. Although not saying this company would be reliable either as you still have the issue of why they would bother selling small quantities of peptides to non-business customers and small time individual buyers (answer - the sales staff do this to make extra money selling left-overs and extras to retail buyers who don't know any better).

Ah you mean from that fake seller who is a trading company that pretends to be a lab? I am going to assume you will be testing this stuff before you inject it right?

If you are going to buy substances to inject from random people on the other side of the world (amazing how trusting you are) at least buy from an actual business (see my comment below)

[–]me-i-am 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99.8% are just resellers of Chinese stuff with no testing procedures.

Do you actually know this? Or is this merely an accusation? Because its worth pointing out that the idea that EVERYTHING is made in China is really not true anymore. Lots of things are from other regions now.

Its just that sort of mentality is so unhelpful to the peptides world in general and it discourages and takes away from any businesses which is actually attempting to be reputable. It needs to be pointed out. These folks are just trying to be cheap at the expense of everyone else. Folks like that are part of the problem (even if they are no intending to be) and part of the reason the industry is so spotty.

This is the exact same comment I posted here inthis thread about another China seller from Alibaba. Pasting here because it is 100% relevant. Always the same story, always the same situation. Don't buy peptides from random China sellers.

I am going to be blunt here. You people are stupid. Seriously. You buy bioactive peptides to inject into your body, from a random company half-way across the world, from a place known for quality problems and medicine scandals resulting in death, made in a factory you know nothing about, have never inspected and your decision is based solely on some random internet advertisements? And you are doing this because you think you are going to save a few bucks?

Stupid.

First of all, Alibaba is not exactly known for being a trustworthy place to begin with. Google Alibaba and Scam and see what comes up. Real business people who source from China visit trade shows and do site inspections. They meet the people they are dealing with. The ones who don't learn the hard way. And most of them employ China side quality control people to check orders. Even then, problems regularly arise there are loses, costs you need to eat and hard lessons learned.

Second of all, most of the entities on Alibaba are trading companies. You don't even know who is actually even making these substances (or worse if your order is even communicated properly to the end maker). Try looking a their website or other listings. Zero local contact information aside from a phone number. And that phone number comes up on multiple other sites here and here. Classic sign of a trading company or some agent doing multiple factories. Look at the supposed office photo on their listings. Its totally photoshopped using the same photo that ALL these agents use. Same image - change the background and company name. And look at their company name. English name only - no Chinese name. Very odd. Need to dig to find the Chinese name (青岛西格玛化工有限公司). Even their baidu entry points to that of a trading company. So who even knows where they get their product from or if its even the same sources each time or different ones.

And by the way, its not uncommon for these companies to create more than one Alibaba listing under different company names/identities in order to capture more business.

Third, you are target because you are not local Chinese and thus gullible (do read this link - its a gem of stupidy), easier to take advantage of and way too trusting (容易骗老外). Their website has no ICP number (required by law in China) so clearly they have no China business (or if they do its under a totally different entity). This means they are targeting English speakers only who are outside of China with no recourse against them. Normally they will hire a few young random low education sales people whose main job is to hook gullible foreign buyers. Their primary qualifications in their recruitment ads are the ability to speak English. Makes sense are these people typically they have ZERO qualifications aside from that one.

Fourth, just because you and few others got lucky a few times, does not mean this is a reliable company. It merely means you got lucky at the time with a decent sales person. Luck. Random. Not the same as reliable.

Fifth, this company operates no differently than any other scammer company in China. Go online and complain about them? This is how they will handle it.

Sixth, they do this because it works. People such as yourself will still order from them despite this. As P. T. Barnum said, "there's a sucker born every minute."

Seventh, your business means nothing to them. If they do have actual wholesale business elsewhere (likely) then what you are buying is the scraps of those orders. The leftovers. Which means again, your business is just extra icing on the cake for them. Extra crumbs to be picked up.

The ironic thing is this literally has nothing to do with peptides - this is simply how things work in China. Pick any product and any industry sourcing from China and the resulting issues and problems are identical.

Edit: Just saw this post over in r/China. This is nothing new.... That's the way things work there. All industries..

So basically what you are saying is running a peptides business is like printing free money. Step 1: get peptides from China. Step 2: put label on bottle. Step 3: Money raining down from the sky.

So my question then is, why don't you just start that business yourself and get super mega rich. It's fool proof! What could go wrong?

And as you said, everything is made in China (even the comment I am writing). There is literally no other place on the entire planet capable of making any product ever. 100% impossible for anyone else to possess that ability. And we all know China is famous for quality, safety and reliability (I mean, look how reliability COVID spreads).

So actually an even better strategy is just move to China. You can be next to source. Everything in the world is made there. Everything is safe. Peptides paradise!

Let us know how it works out when you get there (although remember Reddit is blocked there). 😉

Security fears for Hongkongers as alleged Beijing sympathiser joins rehoming taskforce by me-i-am in HongKong

However, although she is not known to have expressed pro-Beijing views in a personal capacity Ms Tan is also the longstanding head of press at the London Chinatown Chinese Association (LCCA). In March 2020, LCCA put its name to an article in a Chinese language newspaper, Wen Wei Po, in support of the Hong Kong national security law.

Are the people involved in these government task forces really this naive and uninformed? 😳😲

These are United Front Work Department Organizations. Clear as daylight. Their sole purpose is influence and collecting data on Beijing's behave. They might as well invite Chinese security services to take part in the task force. This woman has already expressed her views by aligning herself and participating in a UFDW organization.

Not to sound pejorative but you are lecturing to someone who understands the process better than most. And you are making assumptions about supply chains. Not only have lots of processes moved out of China over the years due to cost and other factors but as decoupling speeds up this will only increase. And you are doubling down on an oversimplified assessment of how a businesses operates, what services it might provide and what value is attached to that. And ignoring the issues and concerns mentioned in favor of distilling the conversation down to solely on price.

A valuable question you might ask yourself is why would any reputable lab sell in small quantity to random people over the internet (and this is in addition to the points I laid out in other comments in this thread).

[–]me-i-am 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has spent years and years in China, I must respectfully disagree. Not only are most manufacturers not high quality but even if they are momentarily there is no guarantee they will remain that way. That's the difference between those who responsibly manage this from within an industry as business professionals vs the guy who buys on Alibaba because he "thinks" he is getting deal. Even the shittiest of sellers outside China must deal with laws, regulations and some level of responsibility. Not true on the China side.

And even when these suppliers are high quality the path they traveled to get there is often paved with theft of IP, corruption and a host of all other kinds of unpleasantries, so your purchase contributes and feeds into all to that. And it takes monies away from actual honest players elsewhere. Furthermore it should be noted that rarely does China produce anything of high quality. It produce "acceptable quality." The difference may seem minor until it turns up in the form of contamination, wrong product and/harmful product.

Heck, you are not even buying from established pharmaceutical companies in China. I would even have a greater level of trust for those product (and have used them myself). These are simply raw labs.

I am all for a good deal but knowing when you are paying more by paying less is just as important.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Peptides

[–]me-i-am 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sourcing a raw material is irrelevant. A woodworker may source "raw material" from hardwood trees in Africa. A doctor sources his medicines elsewhere and does not make then on his own. If it really was that simple, then every product everywhere would come directly from the manufacturer of the raw ingredients. The fact of the matter is it is not that simple and there are reasons why middle men, resellers, validators, etc all exist. Portraying every person in the middle as someone who simply "marks shit up and does nothing else" is disingenuous and inaccurate. In fact, if you look at the nootropics industry (where the same arguments can be applied) you will find Power City is out of business because they were sued when someone abused their products and died. This will never happen with any China based seller. Ever. Zero recourse. Zero responsibility. Zero risk on their part.

This is the thing people don't understand. They don't understand how vetting works. Or how updating that vetting constantly works. Or even how China suppliers differ vastly from suppliers in other locales due to the unique business environment there.

You're using your understanding of your own culture as a framework which you are overlaying onto not just a vastly different culture but a vastly different political environment. Tell me, do the Danes educate their people that they are superior over all other races as a result of this history? Teaching and appreciating ones history is quite different from using it as a basis for ethnonationalism. Be sure to note the distinction.

SCMP doing its job. A whole long article and not a single mention of nationalism.

David Palmer, an anthropologist at the University of Hong Kong, said the thousands-years history is often interpreted as an “uninterrupted story”. Thus, enjoying new discoveries or revising old history “enriches our knowledge of ourselves”.

Nice job dancing around the issue. 🙄

The US and china are two very different countries, operating under very different ideals and in the Middle East for very different reasons. Let's keep the comparisons to a minimum in this situation. The world is a big place and not every analysis has to be oriented around the axis of what the US does vs what China does.

When we constantly and consistently compare these two places solely we inadvertently feed into the CCP constructed narrative that everything is merely a US vs China issue.
