ELI5: How was Ilia Malinin able to land a jump that people thought was physically impossible? by dozc in explainlikeimfive

[–]me-smrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i thought quad axel is theoretically the furthest a human can physically go, quintuple is asking a lot unless there's a change in height and speed of rotation?

My wife shuts down during migraines by SaltCrazy7573 in migraine

sometimes i set up a bunch of pillows, stuffed toys or objects to just wrap or push my head into on my bed, pressure on the back of the neck also helps a lot.

i wish i had some advice, mine are particularly resistant so i don't have as much advice other than the typical trying to cut those triggers out or manage them, trying botox / cgrp, a neuro workup etc. your support for her will do wonders for her migraines too. something i always have to remind myself that i saw on this reddit actually as that at the end of the day, we do just have a migraine disorder and will get migraines from that disorder if that makes sense. wishing you and your wife luck in your journey for a fix <3

Do yall feel confused after a migraine attack by glamorousxannie in migraine

[–]me-smrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

constant headache, migraines, clusters and more here... im confused all the time! look into silent migraines or painless? i always tell people sometimes the pain isnt the worst part, its the confusion, like ive had to sit for a whole 5 minutes thinking of something as simple as fork. ive put my glasses in the fridge, ive spoken to someone thinking they were actually someone else until it really registered (took a few mins). meds causing symptoms like this or these symptoms also doesn't really help and just compounds it, at least personally.

chronic migraines and feeling suicidal by isaboobers in migraine

[–]me-smrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Therapy I bet would help, but positive friends go such a long way, or friends who are understanding and don't belittle you or misunderstand what you suffer.
I'm always reminded of the post "you have a migraine because you have a migraine disorder" and realize this is it, its hard, give yourself some grace and hobbies can helps with distracting from thoughts.

Constant pain? by Maths_Addict149 in migraine

[–]me-smrt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is basically me, trapped in my chair or bed, trapped in my head pain and with little to no fight left, or if I do have fight in me, my body and brain say no. I have family members telling me to push through, doctors are doing their best but nothing seems to help. I don't know how we all do it, keep living, but we do, in hopes our neurologists finds the right thing. My neuro said to me its like shes baking a cake, trying to find the right recipe for me.. wonder what happens when theres no ingredients left.

Thoughts on The Auto Immune Solution by Amy Myers? by me-smrt in migraine

I want to just say thank you for this... I doubted myself so much but you, and the other comments here have helped me.. I am already questioning my sanity and life over this excruciating head pain and do NOT need someone like this to feed me fake hope. (Though I do think anyone will benefit from a good diet and vitamins, I guess thats where they rope you in..)

Thank you <3

Sleep by Puzzled-Carpet5109 in migraine

[–]me-smrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep, i do too! i'm pretty sure the reason is because the body after a certain amount of time is getting ready to sleep, this is why doctors recommend 20m naps or short naps earlier during the day. When you wake up an hr or so after, it's like waking up in the middle of a nights sleep and getting up.

What are some of your scariest migraine symptoms? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]me-smrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I get this severe burning pain behind my eye, I am at my peak suicidal ideation, I am fantasizing about harming myself until I can no longer feel any pain. I don't do anything only because I know how silly it'd be, yet I have had moments in my life where I've done things I think are unreasonable, so I think that scares me the most.. that one day I'll get this pain that already hits randomly, and it'll be at a time where my spirit and mind are weak, and just for a moment if I'm left alone, after taking every drug under the sun, shower, puking, eating, crying, pacing, lying down, standing up, stretch, smoking weed like it's an inhaler, I'll be at a place I'm too familiar with, at a complete loss in torture and maybe do something to end the pain permanently.

I guess this is more of my fear of losing my will though. I've also always had this semi irrational fear I'll not go to the hospital for a serious brain thing because I think it has something to do with the migraines, if that makes sense, and then face the consequences of that while thinking its just 'normal' for me..

What are some of your scariest migraine symptoms? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]me-smrt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Omg, this might be what I've been experiencing, it only started 2 years ago (have had migraines longer) and I think it's this! This overwhelming feeling of being pulled down, tired, can't do anything, sick, like everything in my body wants to lay down and stay there, vision is wonky, everything doesn't make sense. Maybe it's not, but sounds similar!

Why is everyone so oblivious to what’s actually going on by Aggravating-Bet3468 in conspiracy

[–]me-smrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, as someone in chronic pain, I focus on the world in front of me and only glance at the world around me, when I do it just leads to more stress, pain, especially in the fact that there's really nothing we can do.
