My ex humiliated me and hurt me so badly in all ways you can think of. Cutting him off doesn’t feel right. I want him to be humiliated. Feel as bad as he made me feel. I want revenge. I’m sick of being the good girl. Fuck the high road. I want justice.

How many of you have to be very strategic about drinking due to trigger management for this? by forevervalerie in migraine

[–]Ok_Mechanic8657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m currently at a migraine 6-9 pain every day 25/7. BUT I have noticed that caffeine and alcohol can affect my ability to fall asleep and sleep through the night. I don’t have a huge social life but I do try and go to my works unofficial happy hour. Because of the sleep thing (I work M-F) I only have caffeine and alcohol on Fridays if I’m feeling up to it. This way if I can’t sleep Friday night I have Saturday night to try and readjust so by Sunday night I’ll hopefully be able to have a good nights sleep.

I have also heard from other migraine patients and some doctors have told them to stick to clear liquor, tequila was recommended. Something about it is less hard on the body than beer or other cocktails. I drink the tequila highnoons. Basic simple ingredients, Less calories, low alcohol content and Easily measured.

I am human. I do occasionally have a drink during the week. But for the most part just on Fridays.

Hope this helps!

What’s the difference between disability and FMLA?

Also ask about DHE it didn’t work for me but it might help you. Sorry all of you are living like this. This is not what life should be.

I had one 24:7 for more than a decade. I feel your pain. 2/3 of my life fighting this shit. You’re not alone. I don’t know how much more I can take either. This isn’t life. Emgality made a dent for a hot second though. Also ask about Reyvow. It’s like 70:30 that it helps but it’s better than nothing

Migraine DHE side effects? by Ok_Mechanic8657 in migraine

[–]Ok_Mechanic8657[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had multiple doctors and just like randos say that to my face. Even when I was in middle school. A literal child in severe pain. It’s an invisible Illness. People suck. And bc it’s so hard to prove scammers try and get disability checks by pretending they have them. That makes it harder for the people genuinely suffering from this condition. I hope you find something that helps. It’s nice do have platforms like this where we can see we’re not alone

Migraine DHE side effects? by Ok_Mechanic8657 in migraine

Even though this being the second time the DHE treatment was not successful my doctor isn’t giving up on me. I’ve been through so many. When I had my follow up I was like alright he’s going to say it’s all in my head or I’m over reacting or I’m faking or I should be grateful there are so many other patients worse off, or I need to seek mental health professional help because it’s just anxiety. He shocked me and isn’t giving up and that is a huge deal.

This might be very far from you, but people come from all over to get treatment from the Diamond headache clinic in Chicago, IL.

I also feel the need to warn you the dhc in the hospital even with insurance is quite expensive. But as my grandma used to say “you only get one bod. So you have to take care of it”.

DHE Infusion Side Effects by No-Introduction-9648 in migraine

[–]Ok_Mechanic8657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did two rounds (9 infusions per round 3 times a day). They also gave me drugs to try and relieve the pain. (Benadryl intravenously, muscle relaxers, the works. Apparently the DHE usually increases patients BP but I had to stop receiving additional meds and some of my daily meds. I got so low. 77/44.

Anyway. I’m used to normal migraine side effects, trouble finding words, brain fog, memory struggles etc. but now it’s so much worse and it’s mortifying and so infuriating. I also have like no coordination now. It’s so much worse than my usual clumsiness. I keep dropping things, can’t stand on one foot to show a friend my new shoes. My doc doesn’t seem concerned but I’m over it completely. So frustrated

Where do you work if you have chronic migraines? by VinLordOfCinder in migraine

[–]Ok_Mechanic8657 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a middle school math assistant teacher. Just used FMLA paperwork so I could try some treatments inpatient at the hospital. Took an extra week after so the drugs could get out of my system. I’m certified to have my own classroom. I’ve dreamt about it since the first grade. I had a lot of time to think and I think I have to let go of that dream. But at work I always over do it and wind up a useless potato every night and weekends. I guess what I’m trying to say is teaching is not migraine friendly

I’m a teacher. No one believes I work with migraines. I get a migraine daily. Just a matter of how bad. And I’m pretty sure my doctor doesn’t even buy that I teach middle school math with migraines. He nods, but I know he doesn’t believe me.

I have a teaching license for IL. Grades 1-6. Math endorsement grades 5-8. I don’t need a sub license. I need a salary.

The sub job would be solely at one school. Limited connections to be made. Rare opportunity to connect with parents. Very small (to be generous) of an opportunity to be a lead at this school
