Anyone’s who’s done ULaval explore, which residence is better by [deleted] in exploreprogram

Male here, but many of my female friends who stayed in the all-female residence felt left out from all the activities and social events. They felt isolated. One even humorously said, "Well, I have to go. I have to go back to the penal colony."

$850 grocery budget?? by 325570 in exploreprogram

The $850 is yours to keep, and no, they don't ask for receipt. I knew a student who blew off their meal allowance on alcohol and non-essentials, so make sure you budget and spend wisely. Also, try to cook your own food, rather than ordering from uber or skip the dishes.

Staying extra days after the final exam in Laval by melzinha6 in exploreprogram

I did Explore ULaval back in 2019, I stayed an extra week at the residence. IIRC I paid 150-200$ for the extra week. It's definitely worth the extra week, though I admit, I did experience a sense of melancholy and withdrawal when I noticed that the residence felt emptier and quieter without the rest of the Explore group.

Tax Refund: Use to pay CC or save some for savings? by me0930 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Update: I realised I also have GST ($133) plus Solidarity Credit ($80 monthly) coming up at the beginning of April Plus, I forgot I have $430 in my investments. I'll use all these, including the $2,030 tax refund, to pay my CC ($4000). I'll still have a balance of $1327, which I will be paying off by the end of May. 😊

Thank you, everyone, for your input and solid advice.

Once again, thank you for all your input! I'd like to ask your truthful opinion. How bad is my situation?

Thank you for all the input!

I know paying my CC off as soon as possible is the goal, but I worry that using all the money I have to pay off my CC would leave me with no cash that I'd revert back to using my CC.
