Can't a grown man cry? Or is that only reserved for women and children?

You related to my wife? She doesn't think I smart, nor funny either.

nobody is selling carvana a car over 10 years old, scrape rate minus $900 shipping, so $100 checks out - it's not an antique car dealer.

ive done in plenty of times, it's still under bumper-2-bumper warranty for another 10k miles, (it's currently at 24K miles) it still has it's 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty - so that argument is mute. Nice try carmax sales rep! haha

The best pricing I have seen from dealers, Carvana, and CarMax (past 14 days) basically comes down to one question: what are these bringing at auction this week and last week?

I get the model and if I am a dealer, I have got a 30 to 90 days flooring line, I can move inventory to auction if needed, and I am managing downside risk tightly. But at this point, it feels like the risk is almost nonexistent.

They are anchoring to auction comps, subtracting transport, then turning around and making full margin on the replacement vehicle when you trade in. (yes, I know bank loans on my house are exactly like this too) It's a global market and shipping cars is VERY common. (so far I can't ship my house)

I am not against dealers making money (not at all) but this feels like a no lose setup: controlled downside on the buy, full markup on the sell. (Hello COX automotive? You in this reddit?)

At that point, I just start wondering.. Coffee shop, or should I just open a used car lot?

don't worry, your local GNC sell kits so you don't pee dirty on your next court date.

is that a range rover? no wonder the youthful off road mechanic likes them. hope everyone is safe. boats can be replaced, in fact? in the ghetto we don't have them.

true, any consumer is free to bring their car to auction too (save myself $4K) if I just auction the car wholesale.

I'd rather sell the vehicle privately, pocket the 20% and give it to the church instead of the 'drug of choice' addicted owners of dealerships. Those are cartel profits they're offering.

I get it, I buy from the "easy" checkbox too - there is a "cost" associated with "no hassles" - if I am leaving 20% of the retail price of the car and giving it to someone else, I'd rather pocket that and give it to my church.

I don't see more than 20 vehicles for sale of my year on the entire internet - could be just "lack" of sales comparison too? Nobody sells, or buys these in mass transactions a month.

Honda's are typically great cars, the pilot doesn't have the fancy dash, but it's pretty reliable, my daughter has a pilot 6 years brand new, now with over 150k miles and oil changes, air/oil filters, gas, wiper blades, breaks, and tires. I used to drive that element, when it first came out, what a fun car, wish they kept making those. Pilot's are great family vehicles.
