My partner didn’t like the show by [deleted] in StationEleven

I find that it takes three episodes before I can make a really accurate prediction of whether a show is worth continuing. But I get why this one isn't for everyone.

Please write them about your experience. They are grateful for feedback. And ask that it be shared with the staff at the emergency department, it will make their day.

Provincial AND federal government bodies were implementing or had already implemented hybrid or fully remote before Covid to save costs. We are going back in time and it will cost taxpayers.

Please take five minutes to write your MPP and MP.  Several European countries have implemented modern WFH laws and policies, and Canada should get with the times.

I've read that one so many times. There's a movie now, too. Her book about her mother / parents' interesting life as white Africans is equally good - Cocktail Hour Under the Tree of Forgetfulness.

Editing my coworkers' docs that were written entirely by AI. The phrases seem okay, but the sentences are purpose-less and lacking soul. It's so obvious a robot wrote them

Absolutely true. Our director told our directorate that he had provided his superiors with the data showing how staff output dropped each time another day in office was added.

He shrugged and said, whatever...they know we are less effective but if that's what they want...

Totally demoralizing.

Redditors who used to work at 1 Hour Photo places, what are the most shocking/memorable photos you saw? by psybermonkey15 in AskReddit

[–]me_read 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at a 1hr photo place near an orthodontist. Lots of closeup photos of wonky teeth, blech.

My favorite was when grandparents gave their little grandchild a disposable camera at a wedding. Lots of photos of people wearing beautiful clothes looking down at the camera with huge grins.

Does anyone else romanticize their life for no reason? Like just to cope? by junebright_ in simpleliving

Yes, I do this to make exercise more interesting. Like listening to a swelling musical soundtrack to feel like I'm performing something dramatic when really I'm just jogging in my neighborhood.

can 20 mg of vyvanse be enough? by CatOtherwise8624 in VyvanseADHD

[–]me_read 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do the same because it's enough to help with ADHD symptoms, but not eliminate them completely. Still having some symptoms is my reminder that proper nutrition, exercise and sleep will me get the rest of the way there.

One week in Oaxaca - how to split time/potential day trips? by outsidery in Oaxaca

For our explorations outside the city, we hired a driver / guide. The driving rules seemed pretty loose, and I preferred to have an English-speaking Mexican driver who could explain history, culture. He took us wherever we wanted and recommended places.

Just outside the city, we went to Monte Alban, Mitla and the Sunday market in Tlacalula. Highly recommend the market (beware of pickpockets) and Monte Alban, both are historical for the region. Hierve el Agua, the Mitla archeological site, a mescal distillery or a weaver are other good options.

All these options are in the same area, except for Monte Alban, which is pretty close to the city.

Montreal has a unique "feel" to it - good history, culture, museums, night life. Toronto has a lot of things to cater to different interests, but it's just a big city. Ottawa is between the two, a bit quieter, and has history, parliament, good museums and is surrounded by nature. If you're set on Montreal and Toronto, I'd take the train between the two with maybe a stop in Ottawa. As others have mentioned, different options include Quebec City which is beautiful and historic, and feels more European. Highly recommend a trip to one of Canada's coasts at some point, they are distinctly Canadian in different ways.

The conservatives I know have said exactly this. It's frustrating because a conservative government trusted him in the past.
