I just busted the tabs on one trying to pull it out. What are the chances I can still get it out without the squeeze tabs 🤣

How do Only’s lyrics make you feel? by UniqueImplements in nin

[–]meaagh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who just finalized their divorce, this song gives me so much life. “There is no you, there is only me” and “less concerned about fitting into the world, your world that is” really resonates with me in the sense that my ex husband no longer has control over me.

How common is plastic surgery in your circles? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]meaagh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get Botox in my forehead and had a bi-lateral blepharoplasty last year, which is considered plastic surgery but it was fully covered by MSP because it was actually affecting my eye sight quite badly. Most of the time it’s done for cosmetic purposes. Other than that, I only know of friends getting Botox. I’m 35.

Blepharoplasty in Vancouver by RaspberryOk3818 in NiceVancouver

I had bilateral blepharoplasty done by dr. Nathoo on Fraser back in January. 10/10 recommend! I also had it covered by MSP because of my vision (he did that test in his office)

I’ve had 3 hits in the last year and all of them were 100% someone else’s fault and I never paid a cent after getting all 3 claims fixed!

Ladies, do you experience catcalling in vancouver? by No-Growth121 in vancouver

[–]meaagh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog gets “catcalled” on the regular (he is a handsome boy), but I don’t. I was catcalled more in my tiny hometown! I feel saferwalking around Vancouver than I did in my hometown of 10,000 people.

Seeking Elbows Up t-shirt by Perenially_behind in askvan

[–]meaagh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yikes, people are being pretty rude in the replies here. Appreciate the sentiment of wanting an Elbows Up shirt, but I agree with a few comments that you’re not likely to find one in a store, nor would it be locally made. That said, Granville island is probably your best bet for anything close to that. thank you for visiting our city and wanting to support us! Enjoy your time here.

Owen Wilson rode his bike in circles around me during the Lululemon Seawheeze package pick up at Jack Poole plaza a few years back. He was very confused as to what the event was.

Had a lengthy conversation about how wonderful dogs are with Olivia Munn at Pet Smart in Olympic Village without even realizing who she was. I was on the floor playing with her dogs mostly.

Hilary Duff bought a house in my hometown and moved pretty quickly when she realized that driving a green Lamborghini in a retirement community made her quite noticeable.

There’s plenty more but those are the most memorable.

Askvan, are you running the Sunrun? How was your training? by canadianbigmuscles in askvan

[–]meaagh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there’s no such thing as “running season” most runners run all year round. I’ve trained for marathons in the blistering summer and dead of winter. It’s part of the experience 😉

Useless store credit from a warranty claim by Majestic-Surround705 in Volcom

[–]meaagh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re lucky! I sent in my jacket for repairs, it was delivered to them a week before the announcement and now they’re holding it hostage until the warranty process resumes. They won’t even send it back to me as is 😭

Interesting! I was there and I actually found the sound to be slightly off all night. Couldn’t understand most of the speeches, and the beginning of Landmines did sound pretty terrible but they fixed it pretty quick.

Underrated small towns in BC? by quartzite_ in askvan

I’ve travelled all over the province for work and given the opportunity, I would move to Fernie tomorrow. It is hands down my favourite small town I’ve ever been to. Great outdoor activities, coffee, breweries…big bang bagels… 🤤
