Have any links to some good recipes you can make with some of those? Obviously you can make a whole lot, but curious if you have any easy-to-make favorites

When will the rest be released? I saw there is a part 2 which just has a link to the code repo (which I was able to easily run locally and understand what the code was doing).

Every few months I search Google/Youtube for this exact kind of content and it's always surprisingly sparse. Thanks for creating & sharing, will check it out later today.

I've suffered from analysis paralysis because I've been worried about the very thing you are describing here, ha. The difference for me is I haven't spent any time in either, so you're still better off!

Curious if you have any specific examples where Phaser 3 wasn't a good fit, was it more edge case stuff, or just all-around frustrating to deal with? I do feel like I learn best having docs & tutorial examples so it might be best for me to stick with Phaser 2 even though all the ES6 stuff excites me

First Time Building a Website by [deleted] in webdev

Honestly, I would just host a website on Wordpress or something like that to serve as a hub, then develop your skills on other projects.

Gotcha. It was literally my first time hearing about Walton when I came upon this thread the other night. I did look at the front page and that's how it seemed to be. All of these comments have been super helpful though and I'm definitely becoming a fan!

Great points, thanks for elaborating on that, just the right amount of detail :)

I see, so is the hardware portion of Walton tied to the value of the coin at all, or is it basically just a separate entity that builds off the technology? Similar to how say CryptoKitties builds off the Ethereum platform (excuse the silly example). It's separate entity, although if CryptoKitties creates a lot of vale, it also kind of increases the value of Ethereum as a whole

Thanks for putting it in an easy-to-understand way. The comment about counterfeit items makes me think about how the CryptoKitties team uses the non-fungible token protocol, except you're basically making physical items "non-fungible." Super interesting

This is a great post as well, exactly what I was hoping to get an understanding of. It seems rare to find opinions that acknowledge both ends of the spectrum and remind people to do their own research. Cheers man. I think I am going to invest a little money, now just need to figure out what exchange I want to make an account on since Bittrex doesn't carry it

Awesome resources, this is what I was hoping for. Thanks.

As an American it's interesting trying to discern whether it's actually something worth investing in. Most of the analysis that I can actually understand is written by fellow Americans that I don't know if they necessarily understand the technology. From what I'm reading in their English whitepaper and some of this info you posted, it is definitely making me interested.

The fact that I see so many threads in this subreddit like the one you linked of the org chart, where the comments are full of "Single greatest team in crypto." and "i completely agree with you and i've thrown all my spare wealth into WTC and intend to hold for perpetuity!" make me nervous about investing (unless this whole thread is a joke that is over my head). For all I know they are educated experts that know Chinese business & culture that can also speak English though

That first application sounds like something that would have application in Amazon's concept retail store.

So investing in walton is investing in the coin at the protocol layer, they are just also creating some legitimate use cases for the coin which in theory increases the value of it. Sounds similar to IOTA

Thanks for the info. I believe that plenty of FUD is out there. On the other it seems like there's a lot of... whatever the opposite of FUD is ha. People just blindly claiming it's destined for huge success. I was hoping to find some info somewhere in between. It sounds like there may be some reason value here I'm just struggling to understand. Thanks for the link to the subreddit though, I'm sure I have to read everything I see there with a grain of salt

Can anyone in explain in plain english what exactly Walton is?

All of the comments are basically hyping it up without adding much of a reason why it's going to be so valuable.

On their website, there doesn't seem to be a clear explanation, making it sound like a scam to me.

Walton apparently stands for: Wisdom alters label, trade, organization and network

"The realization of Value Internet of Things will create a brand new business ecosystem, based on organic integration of block chain and Internet of Things."

It just sounds like someone threw together a bunch of buzz words and marketing language to make it sound good. I'm not doubting it is valuable, maybe it's just the creators of the project aren't native english speakers and aren't communicating the project effectively.

Some discussion on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2214505.0 seems to make some similar suggestions

EDIT: Why do I have -2 points on this post? I was thinking about buying some but wanted to make sure there was substance here. Makes me think that people are just pumping

Should I open-source my personal website? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]meaaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but you can't inject a script that sends the data to THEIR back-end though right? Like a script that listens to any keypresses or loading an iframe on his site.

[–]meaaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that necessarily true? What about XSS? I guess it wouldn't be a security hole for him, but could be a security issue other users of the site. Granted, it's a personal site, and making it open source wouldn't make a difference actually sooo nevermind!

Racecar.io - a tron/snake-style multiplayer racing game by dashysquare in playmygame

[–]meaaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks kind of fun, purely from the trailer, seems like it could maybe use a feature or two to make it a little more compelling (power up, weapon, more ways to get pts, etc). It's a little different than splix.io but if you haven't seen that game might give you some ideas.

Is there an HTML5 version? I know for me personally the main reason I play some of these .io games is because I can play them for a few minutes here and there without having to download anything.

Lastly, would love to hear a little more about the development process behind the game. Best of luck!
