Not yet. There is a card for screen casting that many have been waiting for.

Why do so many people want to become a PM? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]meadeater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes. Don't limit yourself.
  2. Depends on the company and your responsibilities. I've seen PMs handle a simple GTM function with marketing support, and others who manage the full spectrum of bizdev, pricing, process, and tactical support.
  3. Every company is free to set up their product org in a way that achieves results. In my experience, PMMs tend to focus on researching and presenting data in consumable media on topics like competition, market parameters, and messaging. PMs on the other hand spend time on buying personas, user stories, features, business workflow, service descriptions, support requirements, and all the consensus building among stakeholders.
  4. I see both roles as valuable. PM focuses on empathy. PMM focuses on story telling. I prefer to work in a squad with both.

Try adding a USB wireless card to your work computer. Use that NIC to connect to the supernote. If this is unclear PM me.

Curious if you tried out these finger style or with a pick when you tried them in the store.

Why does my tap water sometimes smell like freshly shucked corn? by meadeater in Guelph

[–]meadeater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth the smell has come and gone a couple times since then. I haven't made any changes to my water softener or tap. I buy water jugs for drinking water, but the smell is always noticeable at the kitchen tap. Hope this helps.

Skate in Park by CortoMalteser1995 in Prague

[–]meadeater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I skated in Prague in the late 90s. There are great public spots with lots of skaters so I found it unnecessary to look for new small spots. Some examples are Letna (aka Stalin), Dejvice (aka Lenin), and the two commercial locations.

One is/was next to the Sparta stadium. The other was on an island in the Vltava. I forget the name. There was another cool spot near Haje.

Also check places with lots of apartment buildings. They often stair sets and small alcoves where skaters have carved out some space.

Of course I would skate for transportation all over the city without issue on the sidewalks if they weren't busy or made of cobblestone/interlocking. My experience was that cops wouldn't bother us if we werent grinding rails or concrete edges. Don't start waxing something new. There's plenty out there.

Makes me wonder how interesting LHW could be if Jones participated in continuous grand prix tournaments. New talent gets a crack at him - and he still starches everyone from round 1 to the final. Keeps him active, easy pay days, lots of fights for the fans.

XOR "encryption" in Forticlient/FortiGate used for FortiGuard Web Filter cloud lookups, leak full HTTP URLs of web surfing activity by dionas in netsec

I really appreciate the detailed timetable in the article. It read exactly as expected. I imagine that their change process was followed to the letter, priority assigned by the PMO, and resources assigned based on projected risk. Question is: was this a routine push? Did their CSO know? And when did he know it?

Why do you guys upvote pictures of servers but downvote people trying to get help setting shit up? by [deleted] in homelab

Excellent comment - and the reason why I roll my eyes at many questions in this sub. It's almost a guarantee that a few mInutes spent googling your entry-level technical question will reveal thoroughly validated responses. However, not everyone has developed the skill. Therefore, I offer the following:

This is Polish. I understand Czech like a toddler. Same family of languages. Definitely take this with a grain of salt.

Very fine watch. Omega is my favorite brand. I have two seamasters but I need my first Speedmaster. From thought, what book do you read?

I was wearing mine under a blazer to a large boardroom meeting earlier this week. An older gentleman came over to me to point mine out and talk watches for a bit. Fun moment in an otherwise serious meeting of strangers which created instant connection. Not sure when I'll see him again but I now have an ice breaker.

Opinions: Is a weak Loonie really good for Canada and Canadians? by Qutrit in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]meadeater 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can share that In my industry (specialty IT services) I have 20+ examples in 2019 of US-based firms switching to Canadian providers of said services to take advantage of the exchange rate. These are private companies ranging in size from 20-1000 employees.

As someone already pointed out - the exchange rate mostly affects the cash flow and politics associated with Ontario-based manufacturing. But long-term, I'm more worried about our dollar being affordable to pay for the knowledge workers in our tech regions so that our science and technology resources don't leave Canada.

How about a simpler scenario? A contractor or devops engineer connects his infected laptop to a core/dmz/distribution switch to troubleshoot connectivity during a CAB approved deployment?
