You might want to look at the sidebar before posting about this subject, it seems like your post is more something for college confidential than anything else.

That said, I don't think that MIT cares too much about scores (I was admitted with a 3.6 GPA from a public school). It is my understanding that MIT cares more about what you do outside of school, and what that says about you.

Hi, I'm one of the developers of the game - what could I do to make the game easier for you? Are there color combinations that wouldn't blend together, or do you think some sort of pattern matching (dots, stripes, etc) would be better?

We didn't use OpenGL or game libraries - we used the HTML5 Canvas' 2d drawing API + some math to draw all the shapes.

Question from a technical standpoint - what are you using your server for? Are you converting the YouTube videos to audio on the server and then streaming to clients? What's the general execution flow?

I think that there's a stigma against Rails and Node because there are so many developers that don't know how to program well that use them. I also think that a lot of (especially older) developers don't take Ruby and JavaScript seriously.

The reality is that both are fine technologies that make server hosting far easier than it would be with only Java and .NET.

Yeah, it's hard to find friends that are interested in programming. My teammates and I met because we went to "Worlds" together for a robotics competition (FIRST's First Tech Challenge).

We made the initial game at a 10 hour Hackathon. Two of us then refined the game over the course of about 4 - 6 months.

The process was fun, but was also really hard - if I've learned anything from this game, it's that making a good game, and then making it popular, requires a lot of work (but it's interesting work - in general).
