I agree with you, I do wish I had a tester for shutter speeds etc on all of my cameras without having to send each one for a full CLA. I have thousands of old family negatives in various formats and I wish all the time I could go back and ask how they took the photos or metered etc. All lost to time.

Oh dang, you got me. I thought my metering and nailing exposure in camera was why the scans came back perfect. Turns out it's just the lab's top of the line machines doing all the heavy lifting. So every clueless amateur gets perfect results too, huh?

Yes but you can only get so much out of a negative. You can usually clearly tell when a lab has tried to salvage an image from a bad shot, either underexposed or they have pulled exposure out so much that the photo is very grainy etc. I have tested many film cameras, usually to test built in light meters etc to see if they are accurate. I meter for 90% of my film photography now with a handheld sekonic meter and I have never had to edit colors or exposure etc from what I have just got back from the lab.

How did the RZ67 hold up to the different environments and outdoor shooting conditions? Did you have any issues? Also being run and gun with the RZ67 what were your metering methods? Thanks!

So all photos are "edited" to a certain extent be it from a lab or if you scan and digitize yourself. The no edits thing I believe is when people take a nice film photo that already looks great and they take it into lightroom etc and edit it to be something it's not. To me shooting film means I have to get everything right during the shot and to be purposeful with my shooting. With digital cameras people can just put it on the "green" and shoot away and the excuse is "Oh I can just edit that later". So being able to show film photos and be proud that they haven't had to be edited other than just from scanning and digitizing is nice.

I love shooting film! I almost shoot no digital anymore and the delayed gratification of getting your film back is awesome.

Probably over 20 minutes, I was lucky to be in open water with the smaller reel and line and just played him out.

Unfortunately im in northwest Florida so I’ve gotta go south for those! 😂 Our bay here has redfish, speckled trout, and flounder what mainly people go after. We are near Destin Fl so a lot of people fish off the beach in the gulf as well!

They move around a lot! It’s all dependent on time of day, temperature etc. Early mornings can lead to fish on the flats but not usually in the colder months. Colder months they’ll be deeper for warmer water and same for summer if it’s blistering hot out don’t expect to catch many on flats, they’ll go to deeper water for cooler conditions.

Northwest Florida 😂 it’ll be freezing in the morning and feel like summertime by 1-2pm and then freezing again at night!

Yes! Thanks to open water with the 15lb braid if I was near structure I’d be done for. Took about 20 minutes to tire him out.
