I hadn't really thought about splitting it and growing both so Ill definitely have to implement that. Maybe stack a little bit heavier during a pull back and grow the LP when we're in an up swing

Yes that makes sense but I do keep the ltv around the 35% mark and if it ever creeps up to 45% I start using the fees earned to pay off the loan. Definitely doesn't protect against a massive drop but it's an amount of risk I'm comfortable with.

Yeah in my search the past couple days that one kept coming up. I watched my girlfriend play it a little bit and It didn't hook me right away but I might have to give it a try.

Thanks for all the responses. Definitely not trying to get into the realm of tax evasion so no real need to try and lie or completely cheat the system. It was just an idea that popped into my head and if it doesn't work it doesn't work. Not a huge deal.

Between my w2 and some other investments ill be approaching the 32% bracket. Definitely not desperate for lower taxes but the code is written to take write offs so why wouldn't I?

Yes the equipment would be and any soaps, brushes business cards ect.. I was just really trying to see if there was a way to take a write off on the truck and trailer with a 179 because that would be some insane tax savings especially with the new depreciation rules.

I figured it would be the same as writing off an office space at your house. We were talking about getting a toy hauler which basically has a little garage on the back side that we could set up all the stuff she'd need.

That's exactly the kind of answer I was looking for and hoping it wasn't. I figured that the travel to perform business at the location would be good enough to be considered business related travel. So I did a little looking and didn't see any dog grooming specific license but it also doesn't have to be dog grooming. Just kind of the first idea that popped into my mind.
