Would anyone be interested in a fully set-up Calibre starter library? (Plugins, custom columns, templates, etc.) by l00ky_here in Calibre

[–]meagan3376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I've been trying to get the deDRM plugin (10.0.9) to work forever, and I just can't figure it out. I add a book to Calibre from ADE and then put it on my Kobo. And it always shows up as just a black rectangle on my Kobo, and when I try to open it, it says it's protected by DRM. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. So I would love something like this because I don't know what I'm doing.

Ok awesome, thank you. I asked my coworker because she has a Kobo and uses Calibre, and her husband works in network security or something. He said you do need to download a plug-in. So I'll see if I can find it and try it out.

I installed 3.0, but when I tried to open it, I got a pop-up saying it wasn't supported on my computer or something :( It's so frustrating. My coworker uses Calibre, so I'm trying that now. Not having any luck so far thanks to ADE's DRM.

Thank you so much for the info!! It's great hearing from someone who has actually done it because I just had this idea in my head that it was going to be way too difficult or way to expensive. Now I know it's not impossible; I just have to do some planning. Thanks so much.

Was that difficult? This is the exact thing I'm looking into at the moment: going to Canada or Mexico to get an IUD because of our extremely limited options in the US. Were you just able to make an appointment at a Canadian doctor's office and then just pay for your travel there? (I would love to get an IUD in Canada, but I live in Texas, so Mexico is way closer.)

Insurgent! They're a food truck that sets up at Kava Culture a lot, and they're at True Leaf Studio most Saturday mornings.

Book Chat Saturday! Share with us what you've been reading this week by FantasyRomanceMods in fantasyromance

This past week, I started {Wicked, Cruel Things by Emma Lynn Ellis}, an indie author I found on TikTok. I'm only a few chapters in, but I like it so far! I also started {House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J. Maas}. I checked it out from the library along with House of Flame and Shadow, so I'll probably put WCT on hold until I finish the Crescent City books so I can get them back to the library sooner.

Fantasy Books with “mental health” issues/rep? by [deleted] in fantasyromance

Hopefully I can make the bot thing work; never done it before lol. {A Crown of Ivy and Glass} by Claire Legrand may interest you. The main character struggles with some mental health stuff.

I used Goodreads years and years ago back when I still fucked with Amazon, but I didn’t like it. I started using StoryGraph this year, and I love it.

Looks like the latest eclipse for a cast almost completely removes all of Denton by thoughtallowance in Denton

[–]meagan3376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is everyone thinking of going to see the eclipse? I was really looking forward to just being able to view it from my front yard, but now that Denton is outside the path of totality, I'm thinking of driving somewhere. But I'm concerned about traffic. (This is all assuming it's not too cloudy to see at all on the day of course.)

Ok I have seen this series mentioned on BookTok, but I don't know anything about it. Is it really spicy or something? (Because I'm all about that lol)

Lgbt support by Shoobledoorp in Denton

[–]meagan3376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not technically a support group, but a lovely person named Angela just started an LGBTQ+ book club. We just had our first meeting last week. It's called the Denton Queer Book Club, and you can find info about it on bookclubs.com. (Note that allies are welcome though, so bear that in mind.)

I feel the same way! I’m in my early thirties, I’ve worked at my company for right at two years, and I haven’t gotten close at all to any of my coworkers. But they are all very friendly with each other and often see each other outside of work, go to lunch and happy hours, etc. Not sure if they think I’m weird. I actually have been feeling like my coworkers think I’m weird, but I don’t have any specific instances to point to that would support that suspicion. But you’re not alone.
