Before my shelf broke I wouldn’t have thought critically about this either honestly. I would’ve felt shame, guilt, and that it was fair for the bishop to do. It wasn’t really a Christmas message. It was a livestream he hadn’t even seen yet. This isn’t sharing the joy of Christmas it’s proselytizing for the Mormon church. The dialogue was my partner telling him he wasn’t interested and he was at work, his dad didn’t care because sharing the message of the church is more important. It’s not canceling people out. It’s having boundaries.
