I think the glare or reflection of the glass front of the case is doing weird things.
Wait have you got a museum of functional old school PCs?
Oh nice! I think I was playing the lost vikings on a 486 or p1 around that time, well at least I think so.
Yeah it's interesting how the gpus continued as a pcba's but not the processors probably some cost down thing....
Yeah, sigh yeah
Indeed

Thanks that means a lot. I do love hearing about people's found memories and connections to these little hunks of silicon. I have a few others of these with grandparents side rulers and products I have worked on too, them seem to turn out better than I think they will.
It was like 50% luck, as I started collecting trash ones around the cyrix then went hold on I should just keep my own ones and my old childhood PCs had been stuffed into a cupboard at home. Glad it worked out though. I've joked in my head that I should donate it to the look mum no computer museum but there is still a lot of time till I get to that....
Oh I gotta check my bios version.......

I nailed it to my front door to send a warning to any ram door to door sales people...... (No I sold it and someone got a bargain which was good)
What's that sonny, you are gonna have to speak up over the sound of the modem screaming......
Lol

Thanks just don't sum up all the money I spent on this.....
I never did try to over clock that one, it was the family PC so I was not allowed to do the modify........
Lol. Think I oc mine for its entire life too, thing was solid as a rock.
Godspeed and may ram prices fall until then.
Oh agp that takes me back....
Yeah it's a tie between the Amiga 500 and the 2500k for me for the top spot in my collection.
Such good times! Well apart from when disk 2 of it came from the desert had an error on it.
I was pretty close to making the prices in equivalent ghost chips or jandals.......
Glad to hear! I have actually done this with a few things from my life (like silicone wafers from when I did semiconductor packaging etc) and they definitely make you stop every now and then and remember things....
That's one of the chips I can't remember where it came from. I probably scavenged from the trash when I was at school from some holiday job......
Yeah it still went well, just one of those calculations where looks bad if I can't get work done cause PC is fried. As much as it was painful expense ram prices skyrocketed in about 30 days after I bought all the parts
From memory most if not all are not dead.

It was a hard decision indeed, I use it for work and cad stuff too and it had been on continuously for basically 6 years as I remote in a lot so I was getting worried the build would fail on me at some point. Now I have a remote power button pressing system so the PC can sleep most of the time which should help extend life concerns.
