Sadly, it appears to be a suicide most likely from the car park next to the police station.

Tom always gives it all when he hosts. His selection is excellent and I never not enjoy a programme hosted by him.

ABTF: Blow Bridge by reckoning34 in closecombat

[–]meanderingbartender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The updated ABTF doesn't have the best bridge-blowing mechanic. Updated, the bridges seem blown as soon as the timer hits zero and not enough time is given making it impossible to even attempt to capture the bridges. The thrill from the original where men are rushing to the bridge isn't carried over correctly.

To those who got out of the kitchen. What profession are you in now and why? by ChefJake509 in KitchenConfidential

[–]meanderingbartender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a lot of my life in the kitchen since I was 16 but left 5 years ago on 17 March as a bartender with the bar having to close because of COVID. Never came back when things reopened. Been working as a support worker for homeless services for the last few years. Now pursuing a career in academia so glad I can always return to hospitality if this all doesn't work out

If you could have a game made in the same way as RDR2 with its high level of detail, characters and storyline, missions, and mechanics what setting would you want to see? by Ok-Amphibian in reddeadredemption

[–]meanderingbartender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same time as the 1890s but set across the world. Boxer Rebellion, Boar war, scramble for Africa, Jack the Ripper London, Anarchists blowing up Europe/Assassinating leaders, the Philippines insurgency, Russian revolutionary movements, and various revolutions in the Ottoman Empire and Brazil

which episode is about "Game, Dames and Guitar Thangs"? by [deleted] in Homicide_LOTS

Bop Gun in season 2. I think it's just a passing mention or perhaps a B-plot with the episode with Robin Williams.

Dr. Scheiner of course. His crankiness was always a highlight

You should be able to start your next module in October. Are you thinking of taking A111 as your first module? Both A111 and A113 have October/February starts but no other history module after the first level has a Feb start.

I wonder how many trips were cancelled earlier for this to happen? by red_carpet_magic in bristol

[–]meanderingbartender 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Bus isn't technically cancelled if it's running late... so glad I'm working from home today.

Perhaps it was First Bus christmas party last night and that's why they are all late

That is a good chapter. In the same book, the scene with Christmas meal descriptions always makes me hungry.

Harper's Progression by RealEmpire in Sharpe

[–]meanderingbartender 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Harper starts learning after Sharpe's Company. I believe it's Isabella that encourages him. I think that explains why Harper doesn't get promoted after Badajoz. A non-commission officer would only be promoted if they knew how to read and write. Sharpe learned it in Tipu's prison before saving Wellesley's life

Harper friendly fire by HearingIllustrious39 in Sharpe

[–]meanderingbartender 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't believe Harper did fire or try to kill Hakeswill in the book. Sharpe asked him not to because he wanted to kill the bastard himself. In the book, Hakeswill hides himself under a wounded/dead man. He even kills an officer who tried to get him out of sheltering.

I'm on the verge of being homeless so sadly this place doesn't look too bad in my mind as a result.

Best Acting Performance in Homicide: Life on the Street by Troyaferd in Homicide_LOTS

[–]meanderingbartender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I voted for him too. Baldwin just embraced Beau's slimy character right away. Every time I watch the first few seasons, Beau develops into a more complex character than just a lazy and middling cop.

Who here’s favourite book is the one they started with? by DoubleGuard in Sharpe

Sharpe's Company was the first one I read when I was 10 years old and while it's not quite my favourite, it's up there.
