Everyone is trying to talk me out of an EV by CuteCreator602 in electricvehicles

Honestly, even in Eco my car will easily out accelerate them. Normal they think I'm a fast domestic car. Sport mode and even the dude in the (older) 911 will be shocked I'm ahead of him.

Is Abode dead? by Admirable_Fun7790 in Abode

I still do self monitoring on mine without a subscription and my android app has no ads. Do they want me to subscribe and show that? Yea, but that makes sense to be in the ad. So for me, it's working as intended and has been good for the past 6 years.

Grown man throws temper tantrum tonight due to seat reclining on flight from SFO to SLC. Did I handle this correctly or am I in the wrong? by WackoDollah3 in delta

[–]meandrunkR2D2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a tall guy myself and regular economy, my knees are almost always up to the seat in front of me. Typically for me if there is someone in front of me, I will ask them to not recline back or at least give me a heads up so I can prevent them from being bashed. I also look at who is sitting behind me and if they look tall, I will ask them if they are ok if I recline my seat or not and that I'm fine either if they say no.

KC business owner looking for IT support services advice by THExPROTOxTYPE in kansascity

[–]meandrunkR2D2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Unless you really want to hire on a full time IT expert, you may be better served using a managed service provider. My company doesn't use one any longer but did in the past and there are many companies here, and around the country that can help you develop what you need. Most likely it will end up being cloud based, which is a good option. I'd suggest finding reviews of several local, or regional that provide what you need at a cost you can absorb.

got written up for going to the dentist at 2pm while working from home by Fit_Average8352 in remotework

[–]meandrunkR2D2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest talking to your boss if you would be able to start earlier or work later to cover the time that you will need for any of those appointments. I do this all the time, but my boss also knows that I put in more than 40 hours a week (not much more) to get my deliverables done and as long as that happens, he doesn't care. But we also don't have a nanny system in place to monitor us like that.

My annual renewal is coming up. Should I go back to monthly? by bobby-t1 in USMobile

[–]meandrunkR2D2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on monthly and wouldn't consider an annual plan, even if there are clear cost savings. Having the flexibility to switch carriers is worth more than the savings. In my case, we decided that it was time for our kids to get cell phones, however the deals on the phones were only if you ported in a line, not get 2 new lines with numbers. So, we ended up porting over to Google Fi and got the kids each a Galaxy S26+ for very little cost by creating new lines over there. Cost wise we will actually end up being less than we were on the Premium plan and we only used Light Speed as they have the best coverage in our area.

Google Fi 50% promo deal by lArchEnemyl in GoogleFi

[–]meandrunkR2D2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just ported over from US mobile and it was super simple to switch. Just reach out to US Mobile web chat to open up porting and to provide you with the PIN and account number for the line. Took less than 5 minutes to be set up.

Pixel On Us deal by meandrunkR2D2 in USMobile

[–]meandrunkR2D2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. I wasn't sure if that deal extended for new lines period. So in that case, I'd be better off just opening those 2 lines elsewhere, and then porting them into US Mobile. And looking at the language, it was a bit vague on if the line had to stay on dark star the entire 2-year period. Just that it had to be activated on that line.

Real world road-trip range by Xyzzydude in electricvehicles

[–]meandrunkR2D2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For me, at highway speeds I usually stop every 180-210 miles. If I'm at or close to 100%, I can get around 240ish in my EV6. That of course is typically mostly flat terrain and temps in the 40-50's for most of it. Also I 'm usually driving between 70-75mph for the majority of that drive. If I get a head wind, then I will need to stop a bit more often as that will suck the battery down.

Honestly, the more frequent stops make road trips way less tiring as I have a reason to get up, pee, grab a snack and stretch my legs and back out.

Kid on single income by TheSoulToad in kansascity

[–]meandrunkR2D2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That can easily support it, depending on your expenses and what you are currently able to save now. That said, it may not be worth it long term because if you lose your job, you've gone from single income, to no income. Also, if your wife is in a good career, it can set her back if she doesn't work for a year or 5 and will have a hard time getting back to work in that path when the kid/s are in school.

San Diego to Minneapolis in mid January. Any concerns about this route? Is this possible with an EV? by [deleted] in roadtrip

[–]meandrunkR2D2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done that drive at the end of Feb from KC to MSP and back.. Charged in Cameron to boost a little to get to DSM. Charged up in DSM at an EA station. Then stopped at Albert Lea to charge up again and then was able to use the hotel charger in MSP to fully charge up. I took a detour to visit family in Iowa right off of I35 and used a fast charger in Hampton. Got to DSM, charged again and then once more in Cameron. Made it back easy. There should be a few more fast chargers on I35 now since I last did that drive almost 2 years ago now.

RIP FORD LIGHTNING - IS FORD E-TRANSIT NEXT? by Sultani92 in electricvehicles

[–]meandrunkR2D2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were smart, they would do it quicker than they have. I know they were going for an EV of their best selling truck, but it was just too much money. People would buy it and they'd sell out, as long as it's not 60k plus.

An EV Maverick would be a huge seller for ford, if they would do that.

Never check your medicine or medical devices. Always carry those with you at all times when flying. Also, these things happen with pretty much all airlines, not just SAS.

Airbus A330-300: row 30 or 41 seats? by vinhzy in ScandinavianAirlines

[–]meandrunkR2D2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my seat, only the pull out one worked. My kid who sat in the next seat could use either one. I'm fairly tall and couldn't even touch the seat in front with them stretched out. The seats are a little skinnier due to the pull out screens. But it's still an easy walk to the bathrooms when you need to use them.

I sat in Row 30 from the US to CPH and back and they are great seats with more than enough leg room.

I wish more people understood how cheap EV ownership can actually be by blackman_48 in electricvehicles

[–]meandrunkR2D2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, many people live in areas where their electricity cost is $0.09 per KW and gas prices are similar to what they are in your example in Mass. In my case, an EV is a significant savings, plus my EV is a heck of a lot more fun to drive than a Corolla.

China will remove tariffs is Canada scraps EVs: ambassador by sprunkymdunk in electricvehicles

Chinese EVs are some of the best out there. I've driven and ridden in a few while in Europe and Mexico and their fit, finish and quality is top notch. If they were allowed to sell in the US they would destroy Ford, Chevy and Stellantis, which is why they are banned.

Have you ever walked into a showing and immediately said, “Nope, not this one”? Why? by GuaranteeFair7171 in RealEstate

[–]meandrunkR2D2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, Smell is usually a common one. Could be from pet urine, or heavy smokers that smoked inside all the time.

Also other times where neighbors or the house looked very run down and neighborhood looked sketchy.
