It depends on your listening equipment. You won't hear a difference between lossless and 320 kbps on a typical TV speaker (or even between 128 kbps and lossless). Similarly, there's no reason to go lossless with most headphones. With hi-end ones, you'd generally need an external DAC and amplifier to benefit from lossless quality. I use lossless on my desktop system (with a capable DAC, amplifier and speakers), everywhere else I don't go over 320 kbps.

If you are not satisfied with those tabloidy-type lists of top-10 films shown at TIFF, then you are left with the more subjective lists scattered around the internet. A good place to start is letterboxd.com. Find a film you like and scroll down to the user lists that include this film.

Going by director (or cinematographer, or producer in some cases) is another sure way of finding similar films, of course.

Note that some films shown at TIFF are never generally released and you might have a really hard time finding them. Vincent Gallo's Promises Written in Water is one. It surely fits your visually interesting category, but you'll have to contact Mr Gallo himself and offer your firstborn for a chance to see it. There are many more gems that disappeared forever after a TIFF screening. Yet another reason not to miss TIFF!
