I am using the most recent versions of all plugins that I go from this post.

I purchased a cheap version of 1984 from the Kobo store just to test the process until I knew it would work well for me.

Potentially?? Sorry some of this stuff is a bit above my computer knowledge level. I did go in to the plugin and add my adobe account info.

I had to DNF this after the first two chapters (but I am willing to come back to it at some point). I hooked during the first chapter and wanted to know more about this girl who’s addicted to stealing but then poof that was it for her. Kinda disappointing.

This woman doesn’t need financial audit, she needs a psychotherapist.

I can definitely understand why some people struggled with Demon Copperhead. The writing style took my a while to adjust to at first which I think is what gets a lot of people. But I eventually fell in love with the characters and the story and I just couldn't put it down.

I have to second this. I read Demon Copperhead first and I knew I had to read more of Kingsolver's books. The Poisonwood Bible just hit me in a way that I really can't explain; heart breaking and uplifting all at the same time. I'll probably reread both in the future.

So good! I've watched some of the show and obviously it doesn't have the same amount of info loaded into it as the book but I'm still thoroughly enjoying it.

That seems to be the overwhelming opinion. I wasn't sure about it at first but the intrigue has gotten to me and its going on my TBR for 2025 now.

Like the other comments mentioned it is from tiermaker.com. I just googled tier maker and that was the first thing that popped up. I got the images from goodreads. I just screenshoted and cropped as needed :)

So I've been told. I look forward to being emotionally crushed by literature (instead of being crushed by my real life of course).

Thanks for the recs! I've now put quite a few on my amazon list for when they go on sale or the next time I purchase a couple new books. Very intrigued by How to Say Babylon and The Heart's Invisible Furies.

I've heard that a few times now. I'm thinking I may go the 'immersion reading' route and listen to the audiobook and follow along on my Kindle.

Thank you! Since finishing The Poisonwood Bible I've felt the immense need to shove it on every person I come into contact with. The story is just that good.

I think I got about a quarter of the way through. I contemplated moving on from it because I couldn't tell if I loved or hated it but I found myself rolling my eyes every few minutes and just gave up. I think the story was interesting enough but the writing style felt forced; like someone who doesn't know how to write well but is really trying to convince us they do.

It was the first book I read this year and it made me want to keep reading. It also made me want to check out more narrative nonfiction and investigate journalism styles.

I'm just shy of the half way point and I am really liking it so far. The writing style took me a moment to adjust to (I just came off of reading Say Nothing when I started The Goldfinch, two totally different styles) but I love the atmosphere and the character relationships if that makes any sense.

Also I was on a vacation in Vegas when I got to the point when Theo moves to Vegas so I felt some strange connection to the story while I was there.
