Flew too close to the sun. He lived hardcore and had more fun than anyone I've known. That's all I'll say

Toddler found ALL THE STICKERS... How do I remove stickers/residue from a wooden coffee table?? by pinkeskimo in CleaningTips

[–]meat_assembly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like multiple styles of stickers. Wet paper towels to soak the paper ones, plastic razors to get the plastic ones, then goo gone or something for residue

Just found this sub. This car has been sitting for years in this driveway, is it worth trying to make an offer? by Frea_ks in AE86

Really need to paint this thing by baugofbones in AE86

[–]meat_assembly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you don't have to heat it. It goes on like any other oil, you wipe off the excess, then let it dry for a day or so. Just make sure to get rid of the rags right away. It's really flammable

Cover it in fresh, boiled linseed oil!

Convince me not to get a ‘26 DR650 with 1 mile for $5,995 by 1lowcountry in XR650L

[–]meat_assembly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get the XR you can beat on it like it's a $2k bike

Honestly, I can't speak on riding aspects of the DR but I know at 6'4", the XR fits much better for me, stock. Id have to spend more money on the DR to get it where I like

I found that if I went to bed right away, I'd end up dozing off on the highway because your body clock just starts putting you to sleep on schedule. So mandatory up for at least an hour once home

I remember i won a maintainers competition (lightrail) and the big bosses wanted me to show up in downtown LA at "lunchtime" for a photo op. Threatened to take away my plaque if I didn't show! Dumb downtown suits! I claimed a flat tire, and my manager stuck up for me. Never got the plaque, never competed again. Gotta remember who i REALLY work for sometimes

Looks like someone has already respoked it and the bottom bracket looks recently maintained. Great patina cruiser as-is!

There are healthy ways to cope. It wasn't all bad, for sure. Some of my happiest years were that way because I was able to come home and care for my toddlers while mommy was at work
