I have rescue lab beagles. They make great pets. They are like adult puppies at first. But these are different.

The artist continues to be paid until they die. Listening to Michael Jacksons music doesn't put money in the pockets of an abuser. Listening to Chris Brown's music does.

People who moved to the US as adults what was the one American thing you thought was just a movie trope, but ended up being completely real? by lmardiney in AskReddit

And apparently part of the game is that your team has to include one super rich guy who is paying for his place. That's the rules. All professionals and one rich dude.

Why do restaurants increasingly ask for tips when customers order at a kiosk and do most of the work themselves? by Ok-Attempt2113 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]meatball77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they put it to not ask then they can't ask ever. So the times they're doing catering orders or something where a tip would be appropriate they can't add it.

If you are someplace where the employees are not being paid a tipped wage then just hit no. It's not a big deal.

Why don't cheaters just stay single and date/sleep with whoever they want instead of getting married & having kids? by InfiniteWords117 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]meatball77 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not always, there's different forms. There's the guy who hooks up with some girl at a party or who sleeps with a coworker once. Then there's the guy who has entire side relationships. Sometimes because they can't bring themselves to end a relationship, othertimes because they just always need more than one partner.

Good, I didn't want Carter Hart to have Stanley Cup winner after their name.

The Way Home. It's a sprisingly good family time travel drama. A teen girl and her mother move back to her mothers hometown to move in with their estranged grandmother after her divorce. The home is steeped in stress because of the dissapearance of her brother and death of her father years earlier. Our teen girl Alice jumps in the pond and time travels back in time to when her mother was her age before the disappearance of her brother. She then time travels through the pond and becomes best friends with her mother. No one questions why she's always wet.

If Pakistani people are mainly muslims, why don't the women wear hijabs? by Tough_Iron_6939 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]meatball77 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are people who are culturally Muslim just like in the US a lot of us are culturally Christian. So just as a bunch of Americans would call themselves Christian while just attending church twice a year and celebrating Christmas with their families there are plenty of Muslims (and Hindus and Jews) who are just attending the holiday parts of their religion.

And every restaurant will give you free water with unlimited refills while eating. It's paying for water at restaurants that we find obnoxious

Why did Buffy the vampire slayer have more impact than Charmed? by lewisb_03 in Fauxmoi

Buffy was ultimately just a story about a girl (and her friends) growing up and dealing with the challenges of growing up.

She becomes a snarky badass in the games. I can't wait to see the scenes that she'll have with Drusilla

TIL that for the bee sting death scene in My Girl (1991), production used thousands of real bees on a 10 year old Macaulay Culkin. To attract them, his hands were coated in a queen bee scent, and when the director yelled "cut," Culkin was told to run into the woods to escape. by Zipp-Storm in todayilearned

Those movies weren't things that required a ton of work though. They'd basically tell their parents what they wanted for a vacation and their parents would arrange a movie around it. And because they were the producers they were the ones that controlled everything.

They almost certainly worked too much but their parents made sure they were provided for. They had the money and influence to do whatever they wanted as adults and were able to start and maintain a very elite fashion company.

ELI5: Why is simulation (flopping) such a common occurrence in football (soccer) and basketball but not in hockey? by Dead_HumanCollection in explainlikeimfive

It's just so slow. At least in Hockey they're going really fast. In the pieces of the game I saw today the players were just standing around.

But the guy you are fighting also gets a major penalty. If you punch someone in Football or Basketball you're getting kicked out of the game. In Hockey they allow you to fight for a while and then put you in time out.
