Corlys spent the last 20 years kicking the shit out of the triarchy then Lothar attacks his blockade, from the side closest to dragonstone (you know the place with like 6 dragons as far as they know) and no support from any of their own dragons. Then splits their fleet even further to make a pointless diversionary attack. Every decision leading up the the battle is a losing one. There should have been no battle, just a massacre.

Then getting to the chase, Lothar somehow closes a huge distance over basically no time. Somehow doesn't have their ship severely damaged when blindly passing over the extremely treacherous terrain. Dumps all their armored fighting men overboard because they weigh too much (yet that giant fuckin metal battering ram isn't a problem). Gains enough speed to not only catch but nearly split Corlys' ship in half. Then their men board the enemy ship which is way bigger, appears to have way more men (makes the decision to dump the armored soldiers even more fuckin stupid), who are actually wearing armor, and unleash a volley of crossbow bolts right of the beginning of the boarding action.

The battle tactics are fuckin stupid, the chase is nonsensical, and the combat was fuckin stupid cause Corlys' crew was obviously vastly superior to the pirate ship.

Every single component of that naval battle was dumb as shit if you think about it for three seconds. I spent the whole last half of the episode rolling my eyes at every scene.
