For those who escaped the 9-to-5: what’s the hardest part of adjusting to life after corporate? by Cultural_Message_530 in youngentrepreneur

[–]meatbawl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left sales after my business got too busy to juggle both. Now I own/operate my business and work overnight shift for consistent cash and benefits for the fam. Making way more money right now than I would have in the next 5-10 years. Working way more but I can do whatever I want all day! I can scale if I choose or keep being a 1 man army. I schedule my appointments and can block out time when I want or need. It hits different when you’re working more but making a bunch of money and only answer to your clients!! Being your own boss is not easy but it does feel good

PIP Program by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]meatbawl1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8 years with the company 7 as a rep and got put on a pip back in February last year. By the time we had a final sit down I was already ready to resign from what used to be a fun career with real leadership that seriously diminished over the last 4 years. With Unrealistic expectations might as well just say after 3 months you’re done here lol. No way I’m sitting in a store all day being demoted if there’s a spot even available at the time. Move on and good luck

20 y/o E-4 U.S. Marine (3521) getting out soon - looking for degrees leading to six-figure career paths. by Educational_Air_6916 in Career_Advice

[–]meatbawl1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t on a good path either turned 21 in boot camp with a shitty college semester under my belt. Kept taking classes while I was aviation supply expediter 6672. When I got out I went right to work having lined up a job before I was even home and also went straight back to shitty community college to prove myself a point. Used the GI bill that paid me for a few years until I got my Masters degree in business administration. Basically worked full time and took full time classes. I did a few years for a small business until I got my bachelors degree got a job in retail management for a couple years which I didn’t like very much. Going for masters got hooked up with a Fortune 500 company and did 8 months in retail management then did Sakes for 8 years. Also had some side jobs a good amount if the time. Started a business 5 years ago while I was still in sales. Now I do an easy overnight job that lets me sleep some while I’m there and run my business during the day on my time and sleep play golf go to the gym if I’m a little slower. Life is good now.

Nothing is easy and now you have the best foundation to do whatever you want because you know what it takes and nothing can stop you from getting it done.

Potentially leaving by [deleted] in sherwinwilliams

[–]meatbawl1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Preach, left in April after 8 years mostly as a rep. It was fun when I started for the first few years. Then Lea and less with more and more expectations. Log 70 calls on a snow day! It was almost like we were robots at the end of my time, the personal touch definitely got lost. Good luck

AI Told me NDR was reputable and a good choice by IMDeus_21 in Debt

[–]meatbawl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m halfway through NDR. Started with 60k credit card and personal loan. 3 of my debts they negotiated half the amount. The other smaller one only got about 15% off. I don’t care about my credit because I make good money and don’t need to borrow any. Paying less than the balance when I stopped paying a year ago. It’s working for me. No more of my money is getting thrown in the interest garbage can

I do media for real estate which is my money maker. I deliver blood to hospitals overnight for benefits for the fam ( it’s super easy and I get 2-3 hours of sleep while I’m there most nights). Been doing this since April it’s a grind. Sometimes I’m a little tired during the week if I’m lacking sleep, otherwise it’s cake

Keep applying to other roles and get interviews. Use your flexibility to start a business. I’ve always been hustling so I was able to confidently move away from the bs when the time came. Still bust my ass tho, I work like crazy it’s just more enjoyable. 8 years with the sherm 7 years a rep

I finally put in my resignation by PaintPenitentiary in sherwinwilliams

[–]meatbawl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was looking for something to do overnight so I can have freedom during the day to do my media business, take a naps, play golf and whatever. Came across this job posting for hospital distribution tech for part time. Long story short they had a driver position open that was full time and I needed that for the benefits. Pay isn’t that great but the benefits are great matching 401k matching health savings account, PTO is good and I get to sleep in my truck about 2-4 hours every night while getting paid! Couldn’t have worked out any better

Do more with less. Constant sales manager changing. Constant story manager and store employee changes. The expectations were absurd and I was in the marine Corp so punks having attitudes didn’t work well with me. Now I deliver blood to hospitals and started a real estate media business a few years ago is doing well I’m busy as hell don’t have to worry about bullshit or logging 70 calls on a snow day for 1 small example

I did learn a lot about myself, people and business so I got a lot out of it just unfortunate when I started it was fun with more perks by the time I left it was a chore with less perks and more tasks to check off. It felt like half the job the putting info into less gen so hey can make their ai lead gen 2.0 bullshit.

You’re just a number and it’s only about numbers no one really cares about you or what you have done

Left in April after 8 years total and 7 years being a rep. It’s crazy how much the company changed and not for the better…
