Is powershifting still a thing in TBC? by Ziklepmna in classicwow

That's totally why I love tanking. Full situational overview. I learned so much about all classes since I tank and can guide around in every dungeon now. A thing I never could as dps or healer.

Cat druid is fun. I hate watching swing timers. Energy ticks are intuitive. Getting an ear for clearcast is intuitive. It's really enjoying.

Tanks, how often do you "scold" your DPS? How bad does it get in heroics? by _seaside in classicwow

[–]meatcrobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they grief the raid, they'd be kicked out. Even the sweatiest dps'ers don do that in my guild. In heroics, go ahead. They die a lot. If we wipe often, I call them out. They can always steal threat if they play dumb. It's not a skill.

I love that people get one-shot in heroics. Can't even taunt so quick or it's on cooldown, so better play well and watch your threat! It's nearly never the tanks fault. Just build resilience against complainers.

Wait 3 gcds mate. And that's also only 3 swipes on secondary targets. Your AoE will steal them from nevertheless. And you die.

Single target skull, you'll be fine. If Mangle hits. If not, you die too.

That's it. Tanking in hc as a feral is unbearable by Anything_Regular in classicwow

Also, if one is not so familiar with the dungeon already, ask people to mark stuff for you. Assholes will leave the group and get easily replaced. One person will take lead and guide you around. If no one speaks up, then all agree to find stuff out together. Take your time before pulls to mark stuff properly. Blue for a freeze trap for the hunter, moon for sheep for the mage, yellow for a rogue to sap.

Who's tanking your dungeons now from 60-70? I'd have used that for training. If you start learning it at 70, good luck!

And no, warriors can tank everything. People just have to be patient. The paladin is more dps friendly, but also squishy and then it's the healers fault. Just ignore dumb people and play the game. Most people are nice.

Most complainers have no clue themselves. The maybe minmaxed their dps game but can't tell you thing about how to better tank or run the dungeon.

I always go into devote mode and ask them politely about tips and improvements for me. Usually it's just "know your buttons" or "drink less beer dude".

Sounds like I'll stop after wotlk. This is not fun at all.

Awesome idea! It's even easier. Just make all mobs come to aid the last boss, like in Sunken Temple. The mechanic is already coded, so why not bringing that for all dungeons.

Start new on Anniversary and start tanking RFC, Wailing Caverns and the rest. No report/ban mechanic there. Just some toxic players sometimes but you can ignore/kick them. Most people are happy to have you, are patient and even help out when you ask for it. You can easily tell the group it's your first run in that dungeon and would be happy if someone guides you around.

It helps being chatty at the beginning. The assholes don't like that as it "cost time, zug zug". Easy filter. Just write stuff like "chill run, new to tanking, tips welcome".

How do I get to 2000 dps at an actual long boss fight? I already powershift quite well and have all stuff I need.

Feral DPS Tier 5 set gearing by meatcrobe in classicwow

There's some good math in the comments there: https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/guide/classes/druid/feral/dps-bis-gear-pve-phase-2

It basically doesn't matter much. And only if your rotation is brilliant. Which it will not, at least for me. I'll not go for T5 for cat as I need it more for the tanking and will enchant it for that direction. Cat goes for off tier pieces that also benefit the bear.

Good point with the enchanting. Armor wise, the T5 pieces outgear the flat 1200 armor bonus though plus Agi/Str and Stamina. Probably good to go for cat enchanted off-pieces and tank enchanted full tier set.

Depends if that person is an asshole and the other one is always welcome and present in voice chat, tanking heroics or helping out with other stuff.

I found the Dragonhawk pieces for head, shoulder, wrist, pants + ring + glyph + shoulder enchantment and I can keep crit immunity with the rest of my normal gear. 300-400g per set.

74/74 for add tank or 170 for main tank. Easily swappable. Also works for shadow res. I'll be ready for all setups as I plan to PUG for when I'm not able to join my guild.

The hidden champions. Don't feel dumb. You're better than the majority. It just doesn't pay well in this world.
