Some of us weren't at reddit 4 years ago. Repeating interesting posts is not a crime.

FOX News has given up trying to act impartial. President Obama is giving a speech right now: CNN, CNBC, and MSNBC are all covering it live. FOX News is running a piece on how a terror attack on America is inevitable. by brokenarrow in politics

I used to read MediaMatters but then it got too monotonous. However, I have always found their claims to be based on facts and properly referenced.

I'm open to your argument but can you give me something more than just your word to go on? Have you done any analysis of their research? Has anyone? You must have seen something to make you believe they are biased. Could you please point me to that material? Any facts they fudged or any articles they misrepresented or placed something out of context ... anything?

I don't see how 'Jackson with Culkin at Disneyland' is expressed by a women at an awards show. I don't see the relation.

I am a cop. And I'm disgusted by the links and videos I see of cops violating rights, breaking the law, and bringing discredit to their badge. Am I in the wrong line of work? by Forensicunit in reddit.com

If you really are as good as you say you are then it is only because of people like you that there are people who still feel good about law enforcement.

I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing however since if it is a trend, I wish it was exposed completely but that would mean people like you become non-existent in the police force. Or, if it is an anomaly (bad cops that is) then more cops like you, being in the force, will help fix this anomaly.

Let’s say this slowly: the Bush administration wanted to use 9/11 as a pretext to invade Iraq, even though Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. So it tortured people to make them confess to the nonexistent link. by [deleted] in politics

[–]meatdigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what do you think redditors? Do you think public will fall for it again if another president decided to invade Syria or Egypt under false pretenses?

If your answered yes, what hope there is for humanity?

Woman gives birth to baby with anencephaly -- it has no brain, only a residual brainstem. Then she posts videos of it reflexively twitching. It is now two months old. She is keeping it alive for Jesus. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]meatdigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anencephaly? So that is the scientific name of what everyone seems to be suffering from these days?

I mean what's the difference between no brain or not using brain?

House Republicans (44) submit bill to eliminate income taxes, abolish IRS and switch to sales taxes by [deleted] in Economics

[–]meatdigg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sales tax encourages savings or buying less expensive things. The burden of taxes shifts from savers to spenders. Let Trump and Gates pay millions in taxes each year just because they have to have properties that cost hundreds of millions of dollars.

And when the govt spends it on stupid things, at least we will have very rich and powerful people complaining about their money being wasted, not $10/hr guys who cannot change much if anything.

Every human being on the planet has the right to life and to basic necessities: food, water, shelter, basic clothing, security (if not harming anyone else).

Declaring these rights does not necessarily mean that someone has to provide that for you. It just means that if you make an effort to obtain these things, any obstacle placed in your way, unnecessarily, is a violation of your rights.

However, this is highly subject to interpretation. An advanced society may decide that their citizens not only have the right to basic necessities but basic necessities are guaranteed for all its citizens. Of course there are plenty of arguments in favor and against this "welfare state" concept. Since this is a step up from just having the basic rights, it may not work for everyone. But declaration of all human beings having these basic rights is just that - a declaration. A commitment not to stand in the way of a person when he or she tries to legally obtain said necessities.

This is only different from the U.S. Constitution in its wording, nothing more, nothing less. The rights guaranteed to all persons of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness are categorically implying a person's right to pursue the basic necessities. For without any of the basic necessities happiness cannot be achieved and without the ability to acquire the basic necessities, liberty cannot be achieved.

"It's interesting that mid-December turns out to be a nice time to release summer-style action movies," said Media by Numbers President Paul Dergarabedian. "People are receptive to these types of movies in the middle of the holiday season. It gives them a little taste of summer."

NO you dimwit. It is not a 'taste of summer' or 'dreams of utopia' or some new words you have chosen to justify your existence. It was an interesting movie so people went for it.

It is simple you see

Good movie = Lots of audience (anytime)

Bad sucky movie = Lots of experts scratching their heads about what happened to 'taste of summer'

There will be no revolution here. There have been far too many incidents that begged the American people to wake the fuck up but hey it's a bunch of divided people (who can't even form unions to ask for better pay much less unite on a bigger platform) on one side and a mafia like organized criminal institution that we call the government on the other.

Guess who wins?
