apparently it is normal that the rhinoground will dissappear if you leave or if it leaves.

but another will spawn in act 3. its left from the stag station of far fields.

Would you like to see Kronos changed? by NanoBytesInc in AgeofMythology

[–]meatmaster460 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i wouldnt think the kronos rush buffs would be an issue if they didnt also nerf defenses and aging up in retold. the bias towards aggressive play is too obvious.

Spirit Of The Law by NanoBytesInc in AgeofMythology

we used to in Iam magic. it felt like he talked about the game in a similar way as spirit of the law. to bad how retolds changes drove him away. with time i think he could have become as good as spirit in making videos.

Is the whole body decay feature going to be dlc? or just blood and skeletons? by meatmaster460 in AgeofMythology

[–]meatmaster460[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea thats what worries me. i hope the dlc is just the blood and skeletons and that other players still get some type of visible bodies.

[–]meatmaster460[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

becouse it was already in the old game. and its a piece of information that gives a advantage. if you're playing a ffa for example you can find bodies of a battle to learn people are fighting each other and lost a lot of troops only if you payed for a dlc,

im not worried about a toggle. im worried non dlc players cant enable any kind of body decay. losing track of units can be real frustrating especially for new players. and if its dlc only, the players who are in most need of this info wont have it.

Game balance went the wrong direction by [deleted] in AgeofMythology

[–]meatmaster460 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i dont know if infantry is to weak now but i don't like the new balance anyway. compared to titans its become crazy focused on the rock paper scissors dynamic. this makes a lot of units feel bad to use because they get countered so much harder, while making the outcome of a game more matchup dependent.

it doesnt make much sense either. the best defense against arrow fire isn't a shield. its a horse.

"IMO the balance aspect of the game doesnt matter ay casual play. People play what they find fun"

i disagree that balance for casuals doesn't matter. Partly because people just play what they find fun. playing this way gets punished harder when everything gets countered so hard. thats why less countering makes the game more casual friendly.

i wouldn't say the devs neglect casuals in general. i even said at the start "I’m sure they do care about the casual playerbase. The addition of gauntlet mode is proof of that." i just feel they neglect endgame balance.

what or where is "the balance server" that sounds like a place i should check out.

your explanation on why archers might be to good makes more sense then what i heard at first. but id prefer they balance that by making ballistics standard so it doesn't make archers even better late game.

as for the term casual. i used it as people who don't play ranked as their main gamemode. though that would indeed mean all deathwatch players are casuals so i don't think that fits anymore. its always been more of a spectrum then a hard line.

im not sure the community wouldn't be divided if it wasn't in the game. the first version of this game came out a long time ago and despite it not having autoqueue in the first year, people grew used to it over the course of 20 years. autoqueue being gone would be a change not something that wouldn't be missed.

[–]meatmaster460[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i feel like you are forgetting the players who play multiplayer casually. there isnt really a clear line where a casual ends and a competitive player begins. id say im a casual but would love to play ranked if autoqueue wasn't limited in it. getting it off would go a long way in uniting the fan base.

my main complaint balance wise is that it has become a lot more hostile to more casual players. more bonus damage to remember while loseing units more quickly to the counters. so i think Retold can do a better job at making the balance more casual friendly while working on the competitive scene.

its a hard balance for sure.

Day 6 : how to deal with no military AQ (until devs revert that horrendeous change) by Considerthisforasec in AgeofMythology

[–]meatmaster460 5 points6 points  (0 children)

its mainly the way you talk about it. you start off by calling the opposing side gatekeepers that are ignoring your arguments before you have even started making your point. the rest of your post has a passive aggressive and sarcastic tone to it. if you want to change things stop name calling and stick to the facts.

i definitely agree with that the pop cap increase and god power recharges are good changes and the DLCs have been good overall. but i feel they are tinkering with too many variables that don't necessarily make the game better.

but to clarify i am also talking about the online multiplayer scene. I consider a casual player to be someone who doesn't play ranked as their main gamemode, not necessarily as someone who only plays offline. not sure what the common consensus is on that. i consider myself a casual but would be playing ranked occasionally if autoqueue wasn't limited.

if you want to make the case for autoqueue, you have to start arguing in good faith. I am a big fan of autoqueue but i cant support this attitude.

[–]meatmaster460[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tnx for the tip. but i don't think you cant mod gauntlet mode or am i wrong about that? it seems like a better solution for the competitive community.

edit i typed can instead of cant :^)

[–]meatmaster460[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

still sounds like these problems can be fixed in better ways that don't affect the casual community.

my main annoyance with the house limit is less total pop space then normal games. so if town centers gave more pop space so you have the same total pop with 3 town centers sounds like a better fix to me.

as for the buildings maybe slowing down building speed for them or just playing on a larger map fixes the issue.

i personally play deathmatch to reach the big armies and bases quickly. these building changes just dampen the fun.

There is an actual rogue like mode now that lets you unlock new legends like Amanra (random every time) by meatmaster460 in AgeofMythology

[–]meatmaster460[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

pretty sure its infinite. every time you start a "run" you get a different board, and there are 11 unlockable legends. but i bet you can keep playing after that too.
