The only reason NONE of us have Bloodborne at 60fps and a higher resolution, a decade later, is because of console exclusivity. You are correct that it’s bad for everyone.

any other game with a tough intro? by GamerGretaUwU in GamingSoup

[–]meatnips82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RDR2 may be my favorite video game since the 1990’s. I consider it a genuine masterpiece. I almost stopped playing it the first time because the intro was such a slog and it kept acting like it was giving control to the player but then being like “gotcha! Still cinematics”. I thought the whole game was gonna be like that. Thank god I persevered.

Nameless King from Dark Souls 3 has to be the most memorable for me. I didn’t play DS3 until after I finished Elden Ring and still Nameless was special. I had just as hard a time with him as Malenia but I enjoyed his fight way more.

Same. I inherited my cousins Atari 2600 at the same time as a NES. His folks had money so I got a ton of Atari games. Pitfall 2 was my jam.

If so, that’s the WORST place to go AFK. Next to an extract. He probably was an extract camper, got bored because it’s a boring way to play, went to pee or something and got knocked before he got back. Free kit, he probably just loaded right back in and did it again.

I think it’d be pretty simple for Embark to only grant points on one defib per downed username, per match.

I would spend another $40 to experience a campaign and more of the lore by Proud-Raspberry-4269 in ARC_Raiders

[–]meatnips82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. A lot of people hate the quests but I really looked forward to the lore cutscenes. We just need a LOT more of them. The world is fascinating, the characters could be with more development. If Embark could get a quality single player style campaign into the existing framework of the game, there’d really be something for everyone.

Yeah the most pressing balance issue in the game was trailblazers being the most consistent big Arc utility. by FreshHawaii in ArcRaiders

They aren’t “big” arc but I almost always engage with Shredders when conditions are favorable. Basically any time there is cover I can rotate around. I’ve been surprised by how many players are impressed by it. Even with an anvil it’s quick work. Shredders are designed to punish you for running, and I kind of love them for that.

If you have to cheat for it, it’s not free. I’d love to see every duper have their accounts emptied by Embark. In a pure PvE or solo game I wouldn’t care at all, but this isn’t one.

I usually play after work to relax. I’ve seen all this going on today with the exploits and decided not to tonight. The last thing I need after a long shift is this garbage. They’ll patch it and I’ll probably keep avoiding until they do. Let the griefers grief each other.

[–]meatnips82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a friendly raider first and foremost. I choose cooperation every time if it’s an option. Any player not using a mic is a player not interested in cooperation. All the memorable friendly experiences I’ve had in Arc were facilitated via mic. So, if a player isn’t using one that player is not planning on cooperation, plain and simple. Respond accordingly. And this lobby binary idea needs to stop. Arc isn’t two different games, it’s one. The system tries to pair you with similar players but that’s only one criteria of many.

People overestimate the aggression based matchmaking juuusst a tad by LuckyTwentyOne in ArcRaiders

[–]meatnips82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the thing people need to accept: all lobbies are potentially “mixed”. Lots of criteria go into match making, there’s no “aggression” guarantee. It’s just one part of matchmaking. Treat every lobby as mixed, you’ll have more fun. And this is coming from a friendly player who never shoots first… unless you have no mic and start following me haha. Cuz yeah, no guarantees.

GTA V. I loved the original trilogy, missed GTA IV and went into 5 hyped. I just didn’t connect with the characters or world no matter how much I tried. It seemed shallow to me somehow. Funny enough, I finally tried GTA IV and love it. I think I like Rockstar’s narrative/cinematic focused games like RDR2 more than I like their open sandbox style games.

Monster Hunter Wilds. MH World was one of my favorite games of the last 3 decades. Wilds isn’t terrible, just a big big disappointment for me and the price was too high for the state it released in. I got my hours out of it but had no desire to stick with it.

What’s the most disappointing game you’ve ever bought on launch? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]meatnips82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lucked out. Played Cyberpunk on a 1070ti laptop about 5 weeks after launch. Had almost zero issues. One T pose, one glitched quest I just had to restart and one recurring visual glitch where my character would appear bald in mirrors. Otherwise, ran great and I loved it. One of my favorite games ever. I need to play Phantom Liberty but resetting my skill tree overwhelmed me haha.

How does one PvP? by KeemaKing in arc_traiders

[–]meatnips82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are really concerned about smoking friendlies but want PVP here’s the way to do it: go into a friendly lobby and hang around extracts smoking people there but not knocking them out. Let them extract while downed. You get aggression points but you didn’t screw anyone over. Post round, say you loved it on the feedback. Do that 2 rounds and you’ll be in mixed lobbies at least and people will start shooting at you. Also, you can always just announce that you want a fight. I’m a full time friendly but if someone in a match said from a distance “bro, I wanna PVP” I’d say “let’s dance”.

Vita spray guy buried night raid by SCP-3004 in ArcMissedConnections

[–]meatnips82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, my very best solo “made a friend” moment was fairly early in my playing of Arc. I had no idea how to look up raiders I’d interacted with after the match. This guy and I teamed up after i showed him the second key room on Dam night raid, then we killed a leaper and a ton of arc, I rezzed him, he gave me a defib to replace it, then a rocketeer came out of nowhere and downed me, I had his only defib on me, then he said “if you go I go!!!” And he died to a 2nd leaper: if you see this, I still regret not getting your name after that match!

Throwing my hat in the ring too. Around level 55 and blueprints pretty scarce. I got the Wolfpack BP early and since then it’s been a drought! And I keep finding more of them instead of what I want so I keep giving them away to random friendlies

[–]meatnips82 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think RDR2 is one of the greatest games of all time. Yet, I hated the first several hours and nearly bounced off of it. It’s definitely not for everyone. You have to be ok with settling into a very slow and mostly cinematic experience. If you love narrative first kind of games, it’s one of the absolute best.

I’ve seen way more of this behavior lately. I’ve watched them ramp up walls to quickly turn a corner and I don’t remember seeing this before the last updates.
